Description
Tragkörpers, also der Stahlstützschale, erfolgt. Method of manufacturing iron or steel bearings with a Support made of light metal alloys using a metallic intermediate layer The invention relates to a method according to which it is possible to produce bearing shells produce, the preferably mechanically stressed part of iron or steel and their sliding or running surface made of a light metal, in particular aluminum alloy consists. So far, such bearings have been made, for example, that the overlay clad on steel strip by rolling or using an intermediate layer made of pure or primary aluminum. The flattening of steel sheets is well known but only possible if there is a deformation during this process the light metal coating or sliding layer as well as the base or support body, that is the steel support shell. The occurrence of this mistake is guaranteed consequently only when relatively soft types of steel are used while high-quality steels, i.e. those with high strength, are eliminated. Also show in the manufacture of closed cans from a steel tube with a light metal lining as an overlay considerable difficulties, if high demands on the latter or put to the whole camp: Besides, it is. not yet succeeded, steel-reinforced light metal bearings with lateral run-up collars to produce the perfect are flawless because the Plating on the ends again and again Difficulties because she shows an effort to detach herself as she does Flanging the federal government undergoes very strong changes in shape.
To eliminate these difficulties and a perfect plating between steel and light metal has already been proposed to achieve a Provide an intermediate layer between the two metals. The application of such so far either by immersing the steel surface in a molten bath or by inserting the intermediate layer in the form of foils. It's no longer new either to apply the intermediate layer in the form of a galvanic deposit and for this for example to choose copper. The overlay, which in this case is exclusively consisted of heavy metal alloys, was produced by cast or pressure plating.
But it has now been shown that this method in use of light metal as a running or sliding layer in bearings therefore not applicable are because of the difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion of the heavy metal existing support body with the running layer made of light metal too large is.
It is now also known in the art to manufacture semi-finished products such. B. Rods, of iron and copper using an intermediate zinc layer by plating produce, the pressed together by a first drawing or rolling process Steel-copper parts after one heating to the zinc melting temperature another Can be subjected to drawing or rolling process as long as the zinc is still liquid. This However, the process cannot be used for the manufacture of bearings from iron and aluminum They are used because the iron coated with aluminum is re-softened not because of the different melting and annealing temperatures of these two metals is possible.
In the manufacture of electrical lead wires from steel and copper, this disadvantage has been eliminated by first applying a solder metal to the core wire. It is also known to galvanize the iron core, i.e. to galvanize it with zinc. Aluminum is then placed around such a galvanized iron wire and heated to about 550 "C to create a zinc-aluminum alloy.
Although this measure is sufficient, electrical conductors that a core that can withstand high mechanical loads on the inside and a highly electrically conductive core on the outside Have envelope to manufacture. However, this method does not succeed in producing bearing shells flawlessly made of iron and aluminum, because of the stresses, in particular mechanical type, much larger and different than the preferred ones line wires subject to tensile stress.
The invention also makes use of a zinc layer in making bearings made of iron and an aluminum alloy. However, around the running or sliding layer consisting of the aluminum alloy to connect the steel or iron support shell or bearing bush so intimately, that a product that is perfect for storage purposes is created according to the invention Running or Sliding material in the form of sheets, strips or as metal dust on the Interlayer applied and then after heating to 380 to 55o ° C during a period of 20 to 100 minutes of this heating under load in one Furnace exposed. This process is intended to ensure that the light metal coating diffused into the zinc layer and thus sufficiently firmly on the steel support shell is held. The resulting connection between steel and light metal is so intimate that the production of the bearing shell according to the invention Method obtained bimetal body of a change in shape, such as a Rolling process, can be subjected to produce bearing shells. Instead of zinc -as To choose an intermediate layer, copper or a copper alloy can also be used for this purpose Find.
Carrying out the method according to the invention allows, as Carrying body for the bearing shell or the bearing bush is a high-quality type of steel to use without having to worry about the diffusion or the adhesion the intermediate layer is adversely affected.
It is also possible, according to the type according to the invention, to be closed Bushings not only inside, but also outside or outside and inside with a well-adhering To provide overlay. Such layers occur in the case of the flange bearings also possible without difficulty on the wide approaching collars.
If metal dust is used to produce the running layer, so the connection of the metal dust with the intermediate layer can also affect others Type take place, for example by the fact that a body made of a sintered material, which largely corresponds to the storage shape, under the above-mentioned temperature in close Is brought into contact with the intermediate layer. Diffusion occurs as a result without further ado. However, the aluminum-metal dust can also be directly in the form a correspondingly thick layer can be applied to the intermediate layer. That Diffusion and sintering of the bearing material can then take place at the same time.
With this method it is not only possible to remove the inner running layer apply, but also the outer circumference of the steel support shell or in general to provide all or part of the base body with an aluminum overlay, as is the case with the so-called floating bearings. Also can if necessary at the same time limiting collar of the bearing shell with a running layer according to the invention Procedures are provided. The latter can also be used where the main body not of steel or iron, but of another Heavy metal, for example made of chrome, nickel or bronze.
