eignen.Extraction process It is known to extract oilseeds, glue pot residues,
Carcasses and the like with organic solvents such as gasoline, benzene, carbon disulfide,
Trichlorethylene and the like to degrease. When using this solvent is
before extraction of the material, drying to a water content of about 100 per cent
necessary for the solvents to take effect. In most cases
It is also necessary to dry the defatted material afterwards, as it is blown out
of the solvent becomes damp by means of pressurized steam. It is therefore not to
circumvent that suitable, expensive drying apparatus must be used so
to prevent mold and rot the moisture up to a level
removed by about io per cent. The procedure described below enables
a much more economical way of working and above all solves the problem of
Drying by a simple method. The extraction material is in this way in
powdery, dry form, while known processes often stick together,
unsightly masses arise which are poor for use as animal feed
suitable.
in
The method according to the invention for extracting oil and fat containing
Good z. B. fishing, carcasses and the like., With the good initially with steam
digested, then liquid perchlorethylene is added, which is up to the drainage
the material is distilled off, the miscella is separated off and washed with perchlorethylene,
consists essentially in the fact that in the washed-out material before what is known per se
Blowing out with pressurized steam perchlorethylene vapors can be initiated. Will
the perchlorethylene vapors are not introduced, but the goods
in
As is known, if only treated with pressurized steam, then glueing occurs
and agglutination of the good, so that you cannot get an odorless good from small pieces
or of a powdery nature, such as such in particular as animal feed
is desired. The perchlorethylene vapor is expediently so long according to the invention
introduced into the material wetted with liquid perchlorethylene until the into the cooler
exhausting vapors have a temperature of about rr9 '. Now that comes down to this
Wise heated material with the introduced water vapor, which is expediently a temperature
of about 1r5 °, in contact, the perchlorethylene distills with water
as an azeotropic mixture, surprisingly a gluing or clumping
of the good does not occur. It is therefore obtained after the perchlorethylene has been blown out
a practically fat-free, dry, odor-free good of powdery and crumbly
Characteristics that animals like to accept as feed.
