The innovation concerns a label, in particular for sterile goods packaging, according to the generic term of protection claim 1.

The innovation relates to a label that is particularly suitable for affixing to sterile goods packaging.

The innovation is based on the task of designing a label of the type mentioned above in such a way that it is easy to handle and can be provided with sufficient information.

This problem is solved according to the innovation by the features of claim 1.

Further details emerge from the subclaims.

The innovation creates a label which preferably consists of two label sections, of which one label section is a main label and the other label section is a control label. Both label sections are provided with an adhesive on their surface facing a carrier layer, which enables the ^label sections to be removed from the carrier paper. On the label section forming the main ^layer, a layer of printing inks is provided which covers several areas and which serves to document treatment processes to which the packaged goods were subjected together with the respective label section.

The fact that the carrier paper layer is cut vertically to the longitudinal axis of the label section forming the main label makes it particularly easy to handle, meaning that when the main label is removed, it is removed with part of the carrier paper layer and can be applied to the sterile goods packaging before sterilization. This means that the main label only remains halfway or halfway stuck to the sterile goods packaging due to the half carrier paper layer and can thus be easily removed from the sterile goods packaging after sterilization.

With reference to the drawing, a preferred embodiment of the label according to the invention is described below to explain further features. Shown are:

According to Fig. 1 and 2, a paper layer acting as a carrier is provided, in which the five-layer

shape and, according to a preferred embodiment, is divided into fields each with a size of 85 mm x 40 mm. The paper layer 1 can be in the form of a roll, so that fields of the aforementioned size are provided next to one another on a paper roll and the longitudinal edges 1a, 1b in the form of perforations separate adjacent labels 1 from one another.

Two preferably rectangular label sections 4, 5 are provided on the paper layer 1, of which the label section 4 forms a main label and the label section 5 forms a control label. Both label sections 4, 5 preferably have the same width B and different lengths L1, L2. The width of the two label sections 4, 5 is preferably selected to be 38 mm, i.e. slightly smaller than the width of the paper layer 1, while the length L1 of the label section 4 is preferably selected to be 58 mm and the length L2 of the label section 5 is selected to be 20 mm.

In the label shown, the two sections 4, 5 are located next to each other and spaced apart from each other, as can be clearly seen from Fig. 1.

Each label section 4, 5 is provided with an adhesive layer 7a or 7b on its lower surface facing the paper layer 1. The adhesive layers 7a, 7b should have a property that, on the one hand, enables the label sections 4, 5 to be releasably adhered to the paper layer 1, and, on the other hand, does not impair the sterilization process in any way, i.e. the adhesive layers 7a, 7b must not block, they must not be toxic and must not develop any unpleasant odors.

The paper layer 1 is provided with a cut 10 which is formed below an imaginary center line 11 of the label section 4, the center line 11 running perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the label section 4. The cut 10 divides the paper layer into a section ^{1a 1} and 1b', which means that when the label is removed

section 4 from the paper layer 1, the paper section la remains on the underside of the label section 4, i.e. the outer surface of the label section 4 remains approximately half coated with the paper section la. A label section 4 removed in this way is applied to the sterile goods packaging before a sterilization process and can be easily removed from the sterile goods packaging after the sterilization process due to the lower surface only being adhesive on one side. At a later point in time, the paper section la can also be removed from the label section 4, which ensures that even after several repositionings of the label section 4, the surface section lying above the paper section la has an extremely high adhesive capacity and the label section 4 can be stuck securely to a patient file or the like after the paper section la has been removed.

As can be seen from Fig. 2, the label sections 4, 5 are provided above the paper layer 1 separated by the cut 10, whereby in the illustrated state the adhesive layer 7a, 7b of both label sections 4, 5 are arranged in a sandwich-like manner between the label sections 4, 5 and the paper layer 1.

The label section 4 is provided with several fields 14, 15, 16 arranged one above the other in Fig. 1, which accommodate a layer of color. Printing inks are used as color layers that serve as indicators for certain treatment processes, for example as an indicator for steam sterilization, where the color layer shows a defined color change after the steam sterilization has been carried out, or as an indicator for ethylene oxide gas sterilization and/or as an indicator for formaldehyde sterilization. The fields 14, 15, 16 thus change their color after the relevant sterilization steps have been carried out and indicate that the relevant sterilization steps have actually been applied.

Fig. 2 shows a side view of the indicator field designated 16 as a layer applied to the surface of the label section 4.

The label sections 4 and 5 are further provided with various data or information fields, for example with a print field 19 which contains the manufacturer's information, an identification number field 20 which contains information corresponding to the identification number field 22 of the label section 5, etc.

From the above description it is clear that the two label sections 4, 5 have different sizes, such that the label section 4 is preferably at least twice the size of the label section 5 and can therefore accommodate more information than the label section 5.

The paper layer 1 corresponds to the requirements of DIN-58953, Part 2, paragraphs 3.1 to 3.7.2, and preferably has a basis weight of 7.5 +/- 0.5 g/m ² . The label sections 4, 5 consist of a paper with a basis weight of preferably 89 g/m ² +/- 3 g/m ² .

Claims (8)

Protection claims Label, in particular for sterile goods jackets, consisting of a carrier on which at least one label section is provided. that a paper layer (1) is provided as a carrier; that a first and second label section (4, 5) provided with an adhesive layer (7a, 7b) are placed on the paper layer (1) while maintaining a mutual distance and are detachably attached to the paper layer (1) by means of the respective adhesive layer (7a, 7b), and that one of the label sections (4, 5) is provided on its surface facing away from the paper layer (1) with at least one printing ink layer limited to a predetermined area (14, 15, 16) which serves as an indicator for a predetermined treatment method. it·· O 2. Label according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the first and second label sections (4, 5) have a plurality of information or data fields (19, 20, 22).
