Description

Process for limiting the degree of polymerization during manufacture unsaturated organic compounds It is known that substances, especially organic The structure of compounds can be influenced by treating them with electrical discharges. For example, in the so-called voltolization process, polymerization takes place carried out by unsaturated compounds that lead to an increase in viscosity and leads to an improvement in the lubricating properties of the oils to be treated. In the case of easily polymerizable substances, gelatinous deposits often form on, which is apparently due to the fact that the polymerization partially to goes far and leads to the aggregation of undesirably large molecular complexes.

Even when it comes to unsaturated hydrocarbons to produce a discharge-chemical influence on saturated compounds occurs too extensive a polymerization of the unsaturated compounds formed on.

In these cases, the method according to the invention brings about an improvement the properties of the substances to be electrochemically treated. According to the invention is a simultaneous treatment or immediately following the chemical discharge treatment Treatment with sound vibrations, in particular with ultrasound, made. Through this the degree of polymerization is limited. The method according to the invention offers easily polymerizable substances have the advantage that with a suitable selection of the intensity and number of vibrations - those used Sound vibrations it makes no effort to polymerize only to a desired degree of polymerization to increase. The dreaded agglomeration known as fish formation in the voltolization of oils and other hydrocarbons can thereby avoid with certainty. If substances that are difficult to polymerize are to be treated, As for example machine oil, the method according to the invention offers the advantage that even with prolonged exposure to electrical discharges the polymerization can be kept so low that the finished product contains the unsaturated hydrocarbons contains in the desired amount. The process thus enables the paintwork and oil extraction as well as other technologically important processes determine the degree of polymerization to be adhered to precisely and thus to obtain particularly high-quality materials.
