Da- die Anbringung von Dekorationsmalereien an Decken und hochgelegenen Wandflächen durch Handmalerei mit grofsen Unannehmlichkeiten verknüpft ist, namentlich eine sehr unbequeme Körperhaltung erfordert und andererseits eine einfache Uebertragung eines auf eine provisorische Unterlage gemalten Bildes nach Art der sogenannten Abziehbilder den Uebelstand aufweist, dafs der Abzug eine umgekehrte Reihenfolge des Farbenauftrags zeigt, so ist bereits früher ein Verfahren vorgeschlagen worden (s. Patentschrift Nr.4291), nach welchem die betreffenden Motive zunächst auf eine besondere Unterlage gemalt und nachher unter Benutzung eines provisorischen Abzuges nach Art der sogenannten Abziehbilder auf die betreffende Decken- oder Wandfläche übertragen werden. Dieses Verfahren besitzt aber Mängel. Zunächst wird bei demselben als Unterlage für die Malerei Papier verwendet. Damit sich dieses nachher von der Malerei gut ablöst, mufs es vor dem Bemalen auf der Vorderseite mehrere Male mit einer in Wasser löslichen Masse bestrichen und nach dem Auflegen auf dasjenige Papier, welches den provisorischen Abzug liefern soll, auf der Rückseite stark mit Wasser angefeuchtet werden. Ersteres ist ziemlich umständlich, letzteres bewirkt in den meisten Fällen ein Faltigwerden des Papiers, abgesehen davon, dafs man bei gröfseren Bildern zu diesem Zweck erst eine harte Platte unterlegen mufs. Auch entstehen, wenn das Papier nicht gut angeklebt wird, was bei gröfseren Flächen sehr schwierig ist, Blasen in der Farbe, welche sich kaum glätten lassen. Aufserdem mufs bei Motiven mit feinen Ausläufern, z. B. Spiegelverzierungen, bei denen der Grund, d. h. die betreffende Deckenfarbe, nicht mit auf das Papier gemalt werden kann, das ganze Motiv, damit beim Ankleben an die Decke die feinen Ausläufer sich nicht wieder ablösen, mit Lack überzogen werden.
