Description
Method for continuous casting of metallic materials The invention relates to a method for continuous casting of metallic materials, in which , the strand that is formed emerges from the casting mold through direct contact is cooled with a liquid coolant. In the case of Iden-known strand casting processes of this type, water is preferably used as the coolant. This happens e.g. B. so that; the strand formed is lowered into a water bath, or it wanders through a cup of water, or it gets splashed with water. When using spray water it has been shown that considerable amounts of water are consumed, what. from economic Reasons is undesirable. This is mainly due to the fact that the splash water hitting the hot strand: this is thrown away, which in turn Seals in one of the other forms required.
Some studies have shown that the hurling of the Splashed water from the hot strand is mainly due to the fact that the Splash water as soon as it hits it, separated from the strand by a layer of vapor wind (Leyidenfrostsohes phenomenon) and thus in its bulk bar not to the intended Cooling effect comes.
The invention provides a remedy for this and enables "the use of liquid coolant in such a way that the liquid coolant ate completely evaporates and any sealing becomes unnecessary. According to the invention, this is achieved that the liquid coolant is used as a mist, What This makes it possible for the coolant to exit through mist nozzles known per se. The coolant mist that hits the red or white glowing strand, its core possibly also still be liquid, can, brings the strand quickly over his whole cross-section to solidify and cools it down to the desired temperature, whereby the fog evaporates completely.
Both room temperature and water can be used to produce the mist oil at a higher temperature can also be used. The application of the fog nozzles also offers the possibility of cooling the cast strand in any desired Graduating shape, which is especially true in the case of chip.nungsrißsenskchen, materials from The meaning is, because @dadurdh also develops undesirable states of tension easier to avoid.
