Und da die Abnutzung der Schlagmesser durch eine Nachstellung der Messerwelle ausgeglichen wird, ist mitunter nicht mehr gewährleistet, daß die Schlagmeser einer Messerwelle frei durchhängen können. Beschädigungen an den Aufhängungen der Schlagmesser sowie Unwuchten in der Messerwelle sind die Folge. Ein störungsfreier Betrieb sowie eine ausreichende Standzeit ist somit vielfach nicht gewährleistet.
