Description
The subject of the invention: is an arrangement of a light-sensitive Cell and a relay, whereby- by exposure changes the light-sensitive Cell current fluctuation new in: the relay are caused and this thereby is operated.
For a long time, light-sensitive cells have been known in which either the resistance of a substance, such as B. Selenium, changes upon exposure, or those that generate an electrical current through exposure. The former Type of cells. are referred to as resistance cells, the latter as photo elements.
Selenium rectifier plates have now been turned into a light-sensitive cell developed. In this cell, the change in the return current of the rectifier plate exploited by exposure to light. In a sense it is. a wid @ status change in connection with the unipolar conductivity of the rectifier plate. The effect is so large that the return current change creates a relay directly and without an intermediary Reinforcement can be operated.
The arrangement according to the invention is characterized in that a light-sensitive teaid, consisting of a selenium rectifier plate. the the cover electrode is expediently applied in the form of a grid and ddie a high reverse voltage has been formed, is used to operate a relay. This as light-sensitive cell used rectifier plate Is constructed like a normal one Selenium rectifier plate of the layered construction, consisting of base plate, selenium layer and cover electrode. The base plate can be made from an iron group metal or from Made of light metal. Between the base plate and selenium layer, the most varied Intermediate layers such as B. nickel, bismuth or carbon layers and others, switched on be. The selenium layer exists in contrast to the normal selenium photo elements not necessarily off; pure selenium, but contains like the selenium rectifier plates Additives to increase the conductivity from halogens or their compounds. the Cover electrode is expediently made of a low-melting metal or a Alloy and .may contain a: small addition of thallium, like the selenium rectifier plate: n is known. The top electrode is applied in such a geometric shape, that it has as long a boundary line as possible, because the effect is exploited occurs predominantly on the boundary line of the cover electroid. The top electrode can e.g. B. be brought out in the form of a grid. One can do this by using a corresponding template when spraying on. of the top electrode metal. This shape of the cover electrode has the effect of changing the reverse current during exposure significantly reinforced. This effect is further strengthened by that the cell is formed to a high reverse voltage. As is well known. at Selenium rectifier plates generate a strong one by applying an electrical voltage Acceptance of the return flow achieved. The reverse voltage increases during the electrical Formation on. With the cell according to the invention it is now: important, one special high reverse voltage to achieve the mentioned effect of the reverse current change - to be intensified significantly with exposure. This is probably closely related the course of the electrical current line in the semiconductor together, which is not considered to be straight are to be taken.
If the cell described is switched into an alternating current circuit, so it shows a strong increase in reverse current when the cell is exposed. This Increase is proportional to the light intensity. This change in current is used according to the invention to operate a normal relay, a so-called post relay.
Gegentaktschaltung verwendet. Natürlich können auch andere Schaltungen angewendet werden. In the previously known light-sensitive cells, there was a change in resistance or the generated photocurrent is so weak that these effects do not result in direct actuation of a relay were sufficient so that the impulse first had to be amplified or special, extremely sensitive relays had to be closed. For interconnection The photocell with the relay can be used in various ways: Art circuits of which: Examples are given in Figs. i to 3. With i and i 'are denotes the photocells, with 2 the relay operated by them. There will be two each Cells used in. Push-pull circuit. Of course, other circuits can also be used be applied.
