ebenfalls in der einen Stromrichtung drosselfestIt is known to achieve throttle resistance in one current direction in an electrolyte

The relay described above can be used in many areas of high-voltage and low-voltage technology instead of the usual application. The drawing schematically shows one in FIG. 1, where g denotes the vessel filled with the electrolyte, α denotes the throttle-resistant anode, k denotes the non-throttling electrode and s denotes the intermediate electrode. The electrolyte consists, for example, of a solution of sodium bicarbonate, α and s from aluminum, k from iron. The relay is used here to achieve constant voltage of a DC dynamo machine with a changing number of revolutions. ' The positive pole of the machine ^ which feeds the networkw is connected to the electrode k, the negative pole via a suitable regulating resistor r to the electrode ct. The field winding f is connected on the one hand to the negative machine pole and on the other hand to the intermediate electrode s. The relay has the property, which can be seen from the diagram in FIG. 2, that the current intensity s, k decreases faster in percentage terms than the voltage a, k increases. If, as a result of an increase in the number of revolutions of the machine, an increase in its terminal voltage is to develop, then the current s, k and thus the excitation of the machine are significantly reduced by a slight increase in the voltage a, k , so that the voltage of the machine also at increased number of revolutions remains constant. Instead of or in addition to the resistance r , a fixed counter voltage, e.g. B. a battery or polarization cell, which defines a response of the relay to a certain maximum voltage.
