Description

The invention relates to a heating device, in particular Exhaust heating for motor vehicles, in which between, the exhaust gases: and the heated one Medium (e.g. fresh air) a controllable coolant (e.g. cold air) switched on that absorbs part of the heat given off by the heating medium and only one Part of this heat transfers to the agent to be heated. The invention exists therein: that a heat sensor is arranged in the discharge line for the heating means is, which is arranged in the coolant supply line via a suitable control member Shut-off member controls automatically.

The arrangement according to the invention .has compared to the previously known Regenerable heaters of a similar design have the advantage that with the down regulation the heating effect is not also one at the same time. Throttling of the flowing through the car body Air volume takes place.

In the drawing, the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment, namely the figure shows the exhaust heating of a motor vehicle in longitudinal section.

A pipe section 2 is arranged around the exhaust pipe i at a smaller distance, and a second pipe section 3 is arranged essentially concentrically in relation to this on a larger scale. The pipe section: 2 connects. an air line 4 and ends at its other end to the open air. The pipe section 3 is closed at both ends by an end wall 5 and 6, respectively, and connects to a compressed air line 7. The pipe section: 2 stands by corrugated and radially on: the pipe i arranged longitudinal strips 9, fins, pins or the like in metallic contact with the pipe i, while on the outside: of the pipe .2 ribs io are provided, which in the Space of the tube 3 protrude freely. In .the discharge line 8 for the heating air, a thermostat ii is arranged, which controls a throttle valve 13 provided in the cooling air line 4 via a rod iz.

The mode of operation of the device according to the invention is evident from the drawing: The hot exhaust gases flow through the pipe i and give off their heat to the wall of this pipe Ribs io over. These are washed around by the fresh heating air flowing in under pressure through the line 7. This heats up to: the ribs io and leaves the line 8 as warm air in order to be supplied to its intended use, in particular the interior of the car. The heat regulator ii is also surrounded by warm air, and this regulates the flow of coolant through the line 4 into the pipe section 2 depending on the supply of air in the line B. Depending on the strength of this cooling air flow, the heat transfer from the exhaust pipe i on the pipe section - in the ribs io more or less softened or strengthened.

By: setting the thermosensitive control device accordingly it is ensured that the fresh air flowing in through the line 7 is not too strong is heated and does not take on a bad smell. Also prevents the coolant flow in pipe 2 that, for example, through cracks or porous areas in the exhaust pipe i exhaust gases get into the vehicle interior. The heating and cooling fluids are preferably used Blown air or possibly the appropriately preheated airflow or the Air from a fan. However, a coolant can also be used as the coolant will. In this case, the pipe section 2 is to be switched on in a cooling circuit. If necessary, can; the arrangement optionally in the cooling circuit of the vehicle engine be switched on. This arrangement has the advantage that when the outside temperature is very low the cooling water is kept at a higher temperature by exhaust heating, which is pleasant when z. B. only a low power when going downhill from the engine demanded and .the cooler is too big for this performance. The arrangement can also be so hit; .that the heating air to be heated flows through an inner tube and the 'hot exhaust gases flow through an outer pipe: the arrangement according to the Invention can also be used where hot water or steam as a heating medium be available. You can get a lower heating effect there by throttling Achieve the heating medium, but you often throttle the inflow of Heating means of several "one behind the other" radiators, or you have to have special ones Create diversions that prevent the flow energy of the heating medium, so that the radiators that are exposed to later flow are heated considerably less.
