Description
The innovation relates to a sanding shoe for a surface sanding machine, in particular for processing objects made of wood or similar, which serves to support a part of a rotating sanding belt lying in the plane of a feed path for the wooden objects, is held on a guide so as to be adjustable at approximately right angles to the feed path and is provided with a wear-resistant surface on the pressing part facing the sanding belt.
Der Schlt-lfschuh mußSanding shoes of this type are well known (brochure Finish-Master from Reinhold Hess GmbH + Co. KG, 7460 Baiingen with the printing note 5384). They consist of metal strips with a roughly trapezoidal cross-section, which are covered on one side with a wear-resistant material. These sanding shoes are placed with their support part on the inside of the sanding belt and therefore support the sanding belt against the objects to be processed. They thus ensure that the sanding belt lies flat on the workpiece and thus level the end products, which are preferably made of wood and can be, for example, strips for window frames, but also panels or similar. On the one hand, it is important that the sanding shoe does not wear out too quickly due to the sanding belt constantly moving past it, because otherwise both frequent readjustment of the sanding shoe and replacement at relatively short intervals during which the machine cannot work will be necessary. It is also important that the sanding shoe does not warp due to the heat generated by friction and that the belt that is attached to the sanding shoe, in which heat is generated by the sanding process, is cooled somewhat. The sanding shoe must
i, daher auch wärmeableitend sein.i, therefore also be heat dissipating.

The innovation is based on the task of increasing the service life of grinding shoes and their effectiveness.
As a solution, it is proposed to form the wear-resistant surface as part of an insert that is detachably arranged on the sanding shoe. This design makes it possible to provide an insert part whose surface is suitably hard, but which nevertheless ensures the desired heat dissipation. This insert is independent of the rest of the sanding shoe's design, and its material therefore does not have to be such that it is able to hold or form a wear-resistant surface. Depending on the area of application, it is therefore possible to use inserts made of highly wear-resistant plastics, hardened steel or the like. However, it is particularly advantageous if, according to the features of subclaims 8 and 9, the insert is made of oxide ceramic. This material has an extremely strong and wear-resistant surface, it does not tend to thermal expansion, which can lead to warping, and is suitable for dissipating the heat that occurs to a sufficient extent. By incorporating such a material in the form of an insert that can be safely housed in a press of the grinding shoe, the ceramic material, which is brittle and sensitive to impact and breakage, is adequately protected and can also be used in grinding machines that can be exposed to considerable vibrations during the machining process.
Es zeigen:Advantageous design options arise from the subclaims 2 to 7 and from the following description of embodiments of the subject matter of the innovation, which are shown in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows a partial section of the processing area of a surface grinding machine according to the innovation, which in a manner not shown in detail consists of a machine frame in which a feed tunnel is formed, which forms a feed path (2) which is limited at the top and bottom by guide rollers and guide belts, of which two guide belts (13) and (14) are shown, which are guided around pressure and deflection rollers (15) and (16) respectively and can be driven in such a way that, for example, a wooden strip (3) is guided in the direction of the arrow (17) along the feed path (2). The feed path is designed in a known manner so that the workpiece (3) is guided precisely and as vibration-free as possible.
In addition to the guide and feed belts (13, 14), which can also be driven so that their strands facing the workpiece (3) run in the direction of the arrow (17), the feed path (2) is also limited at the top and bottom by two sanding belts (4, 4'), which rest on the top and bottom of the workpiece (3), respectively. The sanding belts (4) and (4 1 ) are driven in such a way that their flat strand parts (4a) and (4a 1 ) which limit the feed path (2) are moved against the direction of the arrow (17). These flat parts (4a) and (4a 1 ) are formed by the sanding belts (4) and (4*) being deflected around deflection rollers (18, 19) and (18', 19') respectively in the area of the workpiece (3). These deflection rollers are held in a known manner in guide blocks (20, 20') which enable a feed perpendicular to the feed direction (17) so that the belt parts (4a, 4a') can be aligned parallel to the surface of the workpiece (3) to be machined.
Between the deflection rollers (18) and (19) or (18') and (19') there are provided the new grinding shoes (1) which are guided in a manner not described in detail but known in the guide blocks (20, 20') or in corresponding parts supported on the machine frame, in such a way that they can also be adjusted perpendicular to the direction (17), as indicated by the arrows (21). Each of these grinding shoes (1) has a flat surface (7) with which it presses against the inside of the associated grinding belt (4) or (4') and thus ensures that the parts (4a, 4a1 ) are held flat against the surfaces of the workpiece (3) to be machined between the rollers (18) and (19). The holder for the grinding shoes can attach them rigidly to the grinding belts or, as is also known, also with a certain amount of spring.
Aus den Fig. 2 und 3 geht dabei hervor, daß die Oberflächen (7) des Schleifschuhes (1), die an dem Bandtrum (4a) innen anliegenFrom Fig. 2 and 3 it can be seen that the surfaces (7) of the sanding shoe (1) which lie on the inside of the belt strand (4a)
Die Einlegeleiste (8) ist prismatisch und sie sitzt in einer Nut (9) im Abstützteil- analogous of course to the band piece (4a 1 ) - part of an insert in the form of an insert strip (8), which in the embodiment is made of oxide ceramic. The insert strip (8) is prismatic and sits in a groove (9) in the support part
(6) des Schleifschuhes (1) , der dem Bandteil (4a) zugewandt ist. Die Nut (9) wird dabei zwischen zwei parallelen Wänden(6) of the sanding shoe (1) facing the belt part (4a). The groove (9) is thereby formed between two parallel walls
Die Klemmschrauben (12) gleichen das vorhandene Spiel aus und sorgen für eine Befestigung der Einlegeleiste (8) .(10) and (11) and their dimensions are matched to those of the insert strip (8) so that the insert strip (8) can be held in the groove (9) with almost no play. It can be inserted into the groove (9) from above or from the side and can then be fixed in its position in the groove as shown in Fig. 4 by one or more clamping screws (12) that penetrate the side of the wall (10). The clamping screws (12) compensate for the existing play and ensure that the insert strip (8) is secured.
The insert strip (8) can be manufactured completely independently of the rest of the design of the sanding shoe (1). The oxide ceramic used has an extremely smooth and solid surface that is also wear-free. It can be applied almost ideally from the inside to the sanding belt (4) in area (4a) and does not warp due to the temperature increases that occur during operation. Nevertheless, it is suitable for dissipating the heat generated into the support part (6) and into the other sanding shoe (1), which can be manufactured for this purpose from a metal that conducts heat well in a known manner. When choosing the material, however, it is not necessary to take into account the possibility of surface treatment or the later application of a wear-resistant material. The insert strip (8) can be easily inserted into the groove (9) and fixed in place. The sanding shoe (1) can be moved in the direction of the arrows (21) in a known manner. However, since the insert strip (8) used is subject to almost no wear, neither readjustment of the sanding shoe (1) nor the undesirable frequent replacement of the sanding shoe is necessary.
However, should an irregularity occur, for example due to the insert strip (8) breaking, it can be removed very easily from the groove (9) and replaced with a new insert strip without removing the sanding shoe (1).
Fig. 5 shows a variant of an insert strip (8 1 ) which is inserted from the side in a form-fitting manner into a groove (9 1 ) with a dovetail cross-section. With such an embodiment, a uniform hold is achieved over the entire length of the insert strip (B') due to the shape. In this case, it is sufficient to ensure that the insert strip (8') is axially secured in the groove (9*), which is accommodated in a correspondingly designed support part (6') of the sanding shoe.
The oxide ceramic material preferably used for the insert strip (8) can also be replaced by plastic materials or other materials that have the desired properties. Oxide ceramic, however, has proven to be particularly advantageous.
