Description

The invention relates to a floor display formed by folding and gluing a flat cardboard blank with a tubular base and a chute resting on it, each with a rectangular cross-section.

Such floor stands, also called displays, are used as sales aids for a wide variety of goods. The so-called chute is a container that is open at the top and is often tilted on the base or foot for easy viewing and convenient access to the goods. The floor stands are made from cardboard cut-outs

and leave the manufacturer as flat parts. Before filling and setting up, the chutes and bases must be shaped. Usually, the chutes are shaped and filled by the goods supplier, and then the bases are shaped by the seller.

In a known embodiment of such a floor stand according to DE-PS 29 02 573, the chute and base are made from separate cuts and must be connected to one another, i.e. glued, for further use. The chute is a so-called folding chute, in which the walls must be erected by hand and locked in their position of use using hinged tabs. The base is tubular with a rectangular cross-section. It is folded from a flat cut and glued lengthwise at both ends; otherwise, as already mentioned, it is connected to the chute.

The disadvantage of this known design is that erecting the chute in particular requires a relatively large amount of manual work.

This is where the invention comes in. Its aim is to further develop a floor stand of the type mentioned at the beginning so that it is easier to manufacture and handle.

This object is achieved according to the invention by

As can be seen, a uniform cut was found for the chute and base, so that the previous subsequent connection between these two parts is no longer required. The invention also proposes a chute which can be assembled ready for use by the manufacturer. This can later be brought into the position of use by simply pressing on two diagonal side edges (compression), whereby the base parts fold in automatically. At the same time , the side walls of the base are also aligned to their intended tubular shape.

Folding it up is just as easy as shaping it. All that is required is to apply tension instead of pressure on the same side edges as before. ^Furthermore , it is also possible to maintain the position of the rubble in its original position and only move the base, in particular the transport

simply pressing the front and back together. At the point of sale, the chute can then be easily folded away from the flat base and the latter can be easily returned to its tubular shape. This not only simplifies the necessary erection of the chute, but also practically the entire handling.

The proposed uniform cutting, according to which the chute and base form a foldable unit from the outset, also ensures that the chute and base can then be printed without any problems. If the chute and base were manufactured separately, there was a risk of color deviations, as several printing processes had to be carried out one after the other. Finally, the proposed uniform cutting also means that now only one tool is needed instead of two separate tools, or in other words, instead of two work cycles, only one work cycle is needed to cut the chute and base.

It also makes handling easier and at the same time gives the floor display a more pleasing appearance if the front and back of the base are narrower than the front and back of the chute, if the side walls of the base are interrupted at least twice on the front and/or back side when cutting and if hinged adhesive tabs are provided there. In this case, the chute protrudes laterally over the base when in use.

It is advantageous if the front and back of the base are interrupted in the same direction and provided with hinged clamps.

The proposed uniform cutting can also be achieved with punches of small working width, if the outer walls of the chute are interrupted, corresponding to the side walls of the base, and provided with hinged adhesive tabs.

It is also possible to choose a base of greater height and to fold the base flat under the chute if the side walls of the base have additional cross fold lines all around at a distance from the lower boundary line of the chute, corresponding to the width of the chute. This enables the flattened base to be folded further in the opposite direction.

In another proposal, the other cross fold lines are designed as double lines, with the mutual distance from the back over the first and second half of the side walls to the front being gradually widened. This measure takes into account the fact that with each additional layer, material of greater thickness must be enclosed at the left-hand folds.

It is advisable to have interruptions or material cut-outs on the adhesive flaps in the area of the other cross fold lines. This serves to reduce the amount of material applied when folded.

Advantageously, the side walls of the base have reinforcing edges that can be folded in at the lower end.

of the outer walls 1, which can be connected to one another in an articulated manner via fold lines 2 or by means of an articulated adhesive tab 3. A separate inner wall part 4 is articulated transversely to each outer wall 1, to which a base part 5, 6, 7, 8 is connected in an articulated manner. All inner wall parts 4 are intended to be folded inwards, taking the base parts ₆ , 7, 8 with them into the correct position. The base parts 5 and 7 each have further foldable sections 5a and 7a, which serve as adhesive surfaces. This creates a permanent, but at the same time articulated, connection between section 5a and base part 6 on the one hand and section 7a and base part 8 on the other.

The base part 6 is the later top cover, while the base part 8 represents a half-base that will later be underneath. All of the above-mentioned parts, glued together, form a folding bottom box, which - as will be explained in more detail below - can be converted from a flat form into the spatial form of a chute with a rectangular cross-section required for displaying goods by simple lateral pressure (see Fig. 5 ff.) and vice versa. For this purpose, a special folding line 9 is provided on the base part 6, which allows a triangular section 6a to be bent at an angle relative to the rest of the base part 6 and thus the base part 6 to be moved between the inner wall parts 4, i.e. folded in or folded back, during a change in the shape of the chute (transition from flat form to spatial form and vice versa).

Formation of a base is arranged on which the chute is to rest when it is finished on the floor, i.e. when the goods are later displayed (see Fig. 16 £f ₄ )» The back of the base is provided with a rectangular side wall 10, which is connected in an articulated manner to the corresponding outer wall 1 of the chute via a transverse fold line 11. In the embodiment shown

the corresponding outer wall 1, which results in, and is intended here, that the chute laterally protrudes over the base.

The side wall 10 mentioned above is followed by a side wall 10 of a slightly different shape, which is intended to serve as the front of the base. First of all, this side wall 10 is just as wide and is again connected to an outer wall 1 (C = front of the chute) via a cross fold line 11. At a distance from this cross fold line 11, however, there are further cross fold lines 12, 13, whereby the cross fold line 11 could be described as the upper cross fold line, the cross fold line 12 as the middle cross fold line and the cross fold line 13 as the lower cross fold line in this area. The cross fold lines 11, 12 and 13 run parallel to one another, each at the same distance. This is a quarter of the distance between the front and back of the chute, i.e. a quarter of the width of the chute.

Finally, the side wall 10 of the base is characterized in this area by material cutouts 14, which exist on both sides and have a triangular shape. The triangles are each between the end points of the upper and lower cross fold lines 11, 13 and an inward-jumping point

formed on the middle cross fold line 12. The latter is formed as a double line in the example shown, but should be treated here as a single fold line for the sake of simplicity and clarity.

Each of the side walls 10 described (= back and front of the base) has an adjacent side wall 10 hingedly connected to it via a longitudinal fold line 15. The cut is then interrupted and hinged hinge clamps 16 are provided in these areas. To be more precise, the side walls 10 serving as the front and back of the base are each interrupted in the same direction, namely to the right, and are provided with hinged hinge clamps 16.

Adhesive tabs 16. The side walls 10 connected via the longitudinal fold line 15 have a slanted upper edge 17, which ultimately runs from an end point of the lower cross fold line 13 to the lower boundary line C = extension of the cross fold line 11) of the chute or its cut. Finally, at a distance from the lower boundary line of the chute, which corresponds approximately to the width b of the chute, all side walls have further cross fold lines 19. These are designed as double 30 lines, with the mutual distance jj from the back over the first and second half

^! of the adjacent side walls is widened in stages towards the front. In the area of these further transverse fold lines 19, interruptions or material punchings 20 are also provided on the adhesive tabs 16.

The cross fold line 19 divides the side walls 10 into an upper and a lower section, whereby both the upper and lower sections have a length of approximately the width b of the chute. The side walls 10 can be folded flat after the cut has been glued together, as will be shown, after which, thanks to the cross fold line 19 and its special design, the lower section can be folded back and stowed together with the upper section almost congruently under the bottom of the chute in a space-saving manner for filling and transport purposes.

In order to give the floor display greater stability, including resistance to moisture (cleaning water, etc.), especially for the later point of sale, there are also reinforcing edges 21 at the lower end of the side walls 10 that can be folded in and are to be glued to the side walls 10. 20

It remains to be mentioned that the ciUSCiiültt shown in Fig. 1, in which on the one hand the side walls 10 of the base and on the other hand the outer walls 1 of the chute are connected to each other in pairs and can also be connected to each other continuously via adhesive tabs 3, 16, can practically be manufactured in two halves, so that punches with a smaller working width can also be considered for this.

When the aforementioned sections 5a, 6a, the adhesive tabs 3, 16 and the reinforcing edges 21 are glued to their mating surfaces as intended, the result is a floor stand which leaves the manufacturer lying flat, as shown in Fig. 3 and 4. In particular, by applying pressure to two diagonal side edges of the chute, as shown in Fig.

As shown schematically with arrows 22, this floor stand can be changed from its original flat form into a three-dimensional form as shown in Fig. 5. This is usually done by the user. 5
