Bar table

The innovation relates to a standing table with a 5a1.1l five-shaped base and a table top arranged on top with a central opening for sliding a tablecloth through.

Bar tables of this type are often used outdoors because they look attractive, are practical and can be manufactured relatively inexpensively. In the case of the well-known bar tables, the table top is screwed to the base in three places. Since the table top usually protrudes considerably beyond the base, it is advantageous for transporting the bar table if the table top can be removed from the base. However, with the well-known bar tables, this is only possible with tools and takes a considerable amount of time.

The innovation is based on the task of designing a standing table of the type mentioned above in such a way that its table top can be detached from the base as quickly and easily as possible, without the standing table having to be designed in a complex way.

This task is solved in accordance with the innovation in that the table top is firmly connected on its underside to a coupling piece with a downwardly directed flange for connecting to the base and that a tensioning band is provided to be tightened against the flange and an area of the base for connecting the coupling piece to the base.

This design makes it possible to lift the table top off the base after the tensioning lever of the tensioning band has been swivelled into the release position with just one movement. This means that the table top can be dismantled very quickly. Nevertheless, when the tensioning band is tightened, the table top is very firmly and reliably connected to the base. Since tensioning bands are very common for other applications, they are manufactured in large quantities and are therefore inexpensive, so that the new standing table can be manufactured inexpensively. Unauthorised detachment of the table top from the base can easily be prevented by providing a locking mechanism on the tensioning lever.

The tensioning strap always remains on the coupling piece and reaches its correct position, which spans the coupling piece and an area of the base, when the table top is placed on it if, according to an advantageous design of the innovation, the flange is bent at the end of its downward-facing area to form a circumferential groove that is open at the top and the tensioning strap is hooked into this groove with a retaining bar provided on its upper edge that is angled downwards. This design makes placing and securing the table top particularly easy.

For manufacturing reasons, it may be advantageous to dispense with the bend and instead to choose a design which is characterized by the fact that the flange is bent into a circumferential groove that is open at the top following its downward-facing area and the tensioning band is hooked into this groove with tabs that are welded to its upper leg and point downwards.

The standing table can be manufactured particularly cost-effectively if the upper leg of the tensioning strap is longer than its lower leg.

The umbrella pole of a parasol can be inserted particularly easily into the bar table and is held securely in place if, according to a further development of the innovation, a guide tube reaching to the bottom of the base is inserted into the central opening of the table top to guide the umbrella pole.

The guide tube can be held in its central position in the base very easily if, according to a further advantageous embodiment of the innovation, a central indentation directed into the base is provided in the base of the base and the guide tube extends over the raised edge of the indentation on the outside.

The innovation allows for numerous embodiments. To further clarify its basic principle, one of them is shown in the drawing and is described below. In it, the

The bar table shown as a whole in Figure 1 has a cylindrical base 1 with a table top 2 attached to its top. A parasol rod 3 of a sunshade 4 passes through the table top 2.

Figure 2 shows that a coupling piece 5 is screwed to the underside of the table top 2. This coupling piece 5 has a downward-facing flange and is connected to an outward-facing flange 8 of the base 1 by means of a tensioning band 7.

Figure ? further shows that the base 1 has a guide tube 9 arranged coaxially in it, which extends from the base 10 of the base 1 into an opening 11 in the table top 2. The base 10 has a central depression 12 with an edge 13 protruding into the base 10, over which the guide tube 9 grips so that it is centered and held on the base 10. The diameter of the guide tube 9 is such that the umbrella rod 3 can be easily pushed into it.

In Figure 3 it is shown on an enlarged scale that a groove open at the top is formed on the outside of the flange 6, into which the clamping band 7 engages with a retaining web 15 pointing diagonally downwards . This means that the clamping band 7 cannot fall off the flange 6 even when not clamped, which makes it easier to assemble the table top 2.

Bar table with a column-shaped base and a table top arranged thereon with a central opening for pushing through an umbrella rod, characterized in that the table top (2) is firmly connected on its underside to a coupling piece (5) having a downwardly directed flange (6) for connecting to the base (1) and that a tensioning band (7) to be tensioned against the flange (6) and an area of the base (1) is provided for connecting the coupling piece (5) to the base (1). 2. Standing table according to claim 1, characterized in that the flange (6) is bent at the end of its downwardly directed region to form a circumferential groove (11 ) which is open at the top and the tensioning band (7) is hooked into this groove (114) by means of a retaining web (15) provided at its upper edge and angled downwards. 3. Standing table according to claim 1, characterized in that the flange (6) is bent at the end of its downwardly directed region to form a circumferential groove (14) which is open towards the top and the tensioning band (7) is hooked into this groove (14) by means of downwardly directed tabs welded to its upper leg. 1 St &eegr; 4. Standing table according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a central depression (12) directed into the base (1) is provided in the bottom (10) of the base (1), and the guide tube (9) extends on the outside over the raised edge (13) of the depression (12).
