Goods intake in tray form

The innovation relates to a goods holder in the form of a tray made of cardboard or the like for holding and presenting goods for shipping and for use in sales displays, whereby the tray formed is designed as a folding element with grooved side parts assigned to one another, which can be set up as limiting elements and two opposite side parts are each continued at their ends as tabs and are arranged to secure adjacent side parts.

Such designs are known as so-called trays and are filled with goods in the form of similar cans, bottles, packages or the like at the place of dispatch and then placed in appropriate sales displays at the recipient’s location.

It is necessary to build the goods holder from a punched surface element and to set up the side parts. To connect them, the tabs of the side parts were assigned to the adjacent side parts at right angles and secured by the double formation of the side parts to form a so-called folding tab, whereby the inner part has plug-in lugs that can be inserted into the corresponding plug-in slots in the base part. This structure of the goods holder is relatively complex to handle and takes a lot of time to achieve the exact assignment.

The aim of the innovation is to enable goods to be picked up in a generic manner with simple cutting and minimal material expenditure, as well as to ensure assembly with just a few simple steps.

The solution to this problem is achieved according to the innovation in that the tabs of the opposite side parts enclose the adjacent side parts from the outside and are designed as plug-in heads at the ends and can be inserted into corresponding receptacles of the enclosed side parts.

This creates a simple and quick-to-assemble structure in which, after the side parts have been set up, the tabs with the plug heads can be locked into the corresponding receptacles.

A favourable design consists in having notches for locking between the plug head and the tab and the associated receptacles being designed approximately the same as the plug head.

For easy handling, it is proposed that the insertion area of the plug-in head is designed in the form of a taper.

It is further proposed that the punched-out part remains connected to an edge piece of the receptacle to form the receptacle. The connected part that is now created serves as a securing element.

The illustrated goods holder I is made from a cardboard blank that has a base surface 2 and identical opposite side parts 3 and 4 that are connected to the base surface 2 via grooves. The side parts 3 are continued at both ends as tabs 5. The tabs 5 have a plug-in head 6, with incisions 7 being formed between the tab 5 and the formation of the plug-in head 6.

The other side parts 4 have receptacles 8 corresponding to the plug heads 6, whereby the punched-out parts 9 remain connected to an edge piece of the receptacle 8 in a flap-like manner .
