Description Handle system for handheld vacuum cleaner

The innovation relates to a multi-part guide rod according to the preamble of claim 1.

Multi-part handles have long been known on the handheld vacuum cleaner market. This means that long and short handles can be used for vacuum cleaners depending on the work situation. However, since the electrical connection cable and the main switch are located on the vacuum cleaner housing in these systems, the best ergonomic conditions are not always achieved depending on the situation.

The aim of the innovation is to design a guide handle, which consists of individual, combinable parts*, in such a way that, depending on the combination and arrangement, the connecting cable and the main switch are also arranged in an ergonomically favourable manner.

According to the innovation, the problem is solved by the characterizing part of claim 1.

The subclaims show correspondingly advantageous embodiments.

The innovation therefore has the advantage that different handles can be put together for different working situations using a handheld vacuum cleaner, whereby both the connecting cable and the main switch can be arranged in an ergonomically advantageous manner.

Examples of implementation of the innovation are described below. It

Fig. 1 shows a handheld vacuum cleaner (1) which consists of a so-called motor head (2) and a filter housing (3). A guide rod (A) is inserted into the motor head (2) and can be used to hold and move the handheld vacuum cleaner (1) during work. The motor head (2) is connected to the guide rod (A) at the insertion part (5) in addition to the mechanical connection via electrical contacts (not shown).

Fig. 2 now shows the handle (6) detached from the guide rod / inserted directly into the insertion point (5) instead of the guide rod (A). Here you can also see the electrical power switch (9)/ which switches the electrical connection cable (8) on or off. Now it would be possible to work in which the hand-held vacuum cleaner (1) was carried.

Fig. 3 shows a handheld vacuum cleaner (1) similar to Fig. 1. However, the handle (6) is located here between the guide rod (4) and the motor head (2). This means that the insertion points (5) and (7) are spatially one behind the other. If the handle (6) were to be repositioned similarly to Fig. 2, the arrangement shown in Fig. 4 would result. This reveals a special feature. Since the handle (6) has to be repositioned to carry the vacuum cleaner (1), it is necessary that it has devices (10, 11) for mechanical and electrical connection at the respective insertion points (5 or 7). These devices (10, 11) must always be arranged offset by 90° if the cross section of the insertion points (5, 7) does not represent a regular polygon whose number of sides is divisible by 4, since the handle (6) is also rotated by 90° when repositioned.

Fig 5 shows another embodiment. Here, on the guide rod (4), at the end of which, directly the Handle (6) arranged. The insertion point (5) is still on the engine head (2)

arranged, and the insertion point (7) forms the end of the

guide rod (4).

The handle (6) must therefore only be removed from the guide rod (4), the guide rod (4) must be detached from the motor head (2) and the handle (6) must be inserted back into the socket (5). This is shown in Fig. 6.

The different designs show the flexibility of this system made up of individual handle parts. This system can be adapted to all possible uses.
