The invention relates to a security panel for securing radios of all types and makes installed in cars against theft.

Cassette mortise locks are known to date, which prevent the radio from being removed by setting the locking pins vertically. However, this method has not proven to be effective in practice, because on the one hand the mortise locks can only be used on a few radio types, which are specific to a particular manufacturer, and on the other hand they can be destroyed and rendered inoperable using simple tools.

Furthermore, a coding system with a radio identity card is known, which is useful for tracking thefts, but does not prevent theft itself.

The invention is based on the task of making the theft of the radio more difficult or even impossible. By putting on and locking the security panel, a perpetrator can no longer operate the radio's retaining clips, which can only be reached through the radio panel. The security panel itself is made of steel or another hard material with a built-in combination or security lock with one or two locking pins, which snap into a steel band specially placed and fastened around the entire radio housing with slots at both ends that protrude above the radio panel, and firmly connect the security panel to the built-in radio. The security panel can only be removed without the corresponding key by completely destroying the radio.

2. Steel band (Fig. 3)

The steel band (Fig.3), shaped to suit each type of radio, is inserted together with the radio into the final holder of the radio. The two ends of the steel band (Fig.3) with the slots (30 a) then protrude by 1.5 to 30 cm. The security panel is then placed on the radio panel in such a way that the locking pins (20 a) automatically engage in the slots (30 a) or are finely engaged by turning the lock using the appropriate key. The security panel can only be removed again using the key. Theft of the radio is impossible thanks to the security panel in place.
