Description

The invention relates to a box for tools/assortments or the like with a lower box part and above it - on both sides of a vertical plane extending in the longitudinal or transverse direction of the lower box part - further box parts which are connected to one another or to the lower box part in a parallelogram-like manner by a linkage at the end faces of the box penetrated by the vertical plane.

Such boxes are widely used as tool boxes and are available for purchase in a variety of configurations. When the box is closed, the box parts form an approximately cuboid-shaped housing. To open the box, the two top box parts are each swung to the side, whereby, due to the parallelogram-like coupling of the box parts with each other, the box parts arranged between the top box part and the bottom box part are also moved until the open position is reached, in which the top box parts project over the sides of the bottom box part in a stepped manner.

With previous boxes, the open position can be relatively difficult to achieve because the box parts can jam on the connecting rods.

Therefore, the object of the invention is to create a box of the type specified at the beginning, which can be easily opened and closed under all circumstances.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that on both sides of the vertical plane of the lower box part, at least one link connecting the lower box part to the upper box parts is non-rotatably connected to the corresponding link on the other end face by means of an axle passing through a box part.

The rigid coupling of the above-mentioned links ensures that the longitudinal axes of the upper box parts always remain parallel to the longitudinal axis of the lower box part during the opening and closing movement of the box, ie the box parts can practically not twist relative to each other when the box is opened and closed. This prevents any jamming between the linkage and the box parts, because the swivel movements of the links always take place sufficiently parallel to the front sides of the box.

A further advantage of the invention is that the axles also act to stiffen the box and thus increase its stability.

The storage space inside the box remains practically unchanged due to the arrangement of the axles, as they can be arranged in the immediate vicinity of the side walls of the lower box section and/or the uppermost box sections.

As a rule, it is sufficient if one axle is arranged for each side of the box on both sides of the vertical center plane of the lower box section. In principle, however, it is also possible to arrange two axles between the connected handlebars at the front ends of the handlebars, so that the axles and handlebars are connected to each other in the manner of a rectangular frame.

Furthermore, with regard to preferred features of the invention, reference is made to the dependent claims and the following representation of a preferred embodiment based on the drawing.

The only figure shows a perspective, partially opened view of a toolbox according to the invention, with the upper box parts on the one side of the box pivoted into the open position.

The tool box according to the invention essentially consists of a lower box part 1 and upper box parts 2 and 3 arranged on both sides of a vertical central longitudinal plane of this box part. On both sides of the vertical central longitudinal plane, the upper box parts 2 and 3 are connected to one another or to the lower box part 1 in a parallelogram-like manner by means of links 4, 5 and 10, which are pivotally mounted on the front sides of the box parts 1, 2 and 3.

Rivet-shaped bolts on the front sides of the box parts 1 to 3 are generally used to pivot the links 4, 5 and 10.

A special feature of the invention is that the long links 10, which connect the lower box part 1 on each box side with all the upper box parts 2 and 3 arranged above it, are connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the corresponding link 10' on the other box end face via an axle 11, which is rotatably mounted in holes in the end faces of the lower box part 1. Accordingly, the links 10 and 10' connected by the axle 11 can only pivot together by the same angle of rotation, with the result that the longitudinal axes of the box parts 1 to 3 always remain parallel to one another when the box is opened and closed.
