The invention relates to a razor, in particular a disposable razor, consisting of a razor head connected to a handle, in which at least one razor blade is embedded and which has a sliding strip parallel to the cutting edge of the razor blade, and wherein a protective cap can be pushed laterally onto the razor head, which, when pushed on, covers the razor blade and the gliding strip.

Such razors are known and are sold in particular as disposable razors. They basically consist of a razor head, which can be designed as a so-called razor blade unit. This razor head is connected to a handle, whereby in the case of disposable razors, these two parts are made of plastic in one piece. A single razor blade or a double razor blade is embedded in the razor head. In order to prevent the user from accidentally touching the cutting edge of the razor blade when the razor is not in use, a protective cap can be pushed onto the side of the razor head, which, when pushed on, covers the shaving surface and thus the razor blade of the razor head.

It is also known to provide the razor head with a lubricating strip that is inserted parallel to the cutting edge of the razor blade in the razor head. During shaving, this lubricating strip softens and acts as a lubricant that reduces the friction between the plastic parts of the razor head that come into contact with the skin and the user's skin. If such a strip is used after shaving,

If the protective cap is pushed onto the head of a razor with a gliding strip so that it also covers the gliding strip, the latter cannot dry due to a lack of ventilation. Instead, the gliding strip becomes soft due to the moisture not escaping and dissolves over time. The gliding effect of the gliding strip is thus lost, even though the razor blades are still functional.

Based on this, the invention is based on the task of further developing the known razor in such a way that it remains fully functional despite the protective cap being pushed on and the lubricating strip being moist.

As a technical solution, the invention proposes that the protective cap is provided with at least one opening in the area of the sliding strip.

A razor designed according to this technical theory has the advantage that, despite the protective cap being pushed on and despite the glide strip being wet, no moisture build-up occurs that would cause the glide strip to soften and gradually dissolve, since the opening in the glide strip area creates ventilation through which the water can quickly evaporate. The effect of the glide strip is therefore fully retained despite the protective cap being pushed on immediately after shaving, so that a consistent gliding effect is maintained over the entire life of the razor blades.

Preferably, the opening is a slot. Various arrangements are conceivable for this purpose. In a preferred development, a plurality of slots are formed in the protective cap over its entire length,

which are spaced apart from one another and aligned parallel to one another. The slots can be aligned either vertically or preferably at an angle to the cutting edge of the razor blade. This arrangement of the slots has the advantage that the lubricating strip can dry quickly without the protection provided by the protective cap being lost. The slots can essentially extend ^over the bristles of the protective ^{cap -} the razor blades can also lie partially under the slots so that they also dry more quickly after shaving.

Interesting details and advantages emerge from the following description of the accompanying drawing, in which a razor according to the invention with a protective cap with slots is shown schematically. In the drawing:

Figure 1 shows a razor consisting of an eleventh handle 1, at the front end of which a razor head 2 is arranged. These two parts can, for example, be made in one piece from plastic.

Two razor blades 3 are embedded in the razor head 2. Furthermore, a lubricating strip 4 is inserted above these razor blades 3 in the razor head 2. The strip softens during shaving and releases a lubricant that reduces the friction between the plastic parts of the razor head 2 that come into contact with the skin and the user's skin. The lubricating strip 4 is parallel to the cutting edges.

Furthermore, a protective cap 5 can be seen in Fig. 1, which can be pushed onto the razor head 2 in the direction of arrow P. The pushed-on state is shown in Figs. 2 and 3. The protective cap 5 is essentially sleeve-shaped with an inner profile corresponding to the cross-sectional profile of the razor head 2 and with a guide slot 6 on the back of the protective cap 5, as can be seen in Fig. 3.

The front of the protective cap 5 has openings in the form of slots 7. These extend over the entire length of the protective cap 5 and are parallel to one another at a distance and are aligned at an angle to the cutting edges of the razor blades 3. In Fig. 2 it can be seen that the slots 7 are above the sliding strip 4, so that when the sliding strip 4 is wet, for example after shaving, and when the protective cap 5 is pushed on, the moisture can evaporate through the slots 7 and the sliding strip 4 can dry. The sliding properties of the sliding strip 4 are thus maintained over the entire service life of the razor blades.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the openings are designed as slots 7. Other arrangements and shapes of openings are also conceivable.
