The present innovation relates to a folding suitcase, which is shown in Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawing in a folded form and thus serves as a suitcase bag for low travel needs. Due to its inner movable base parts located on four sides in the upper and lower case, it can be enlarged into a completely solid travel case, as shown in FIG. For this purpose, in the opened case, first the two long inner bottom parts (boards) b, Fig. 3 and 5, which are attached to the wooden frame α with hinges, are unfolded, then the four folded board parts c, which also go through with the bottom b Hinges are connected at e , opened up the entire length of the case and furthermore the bottom parts d unfolded, as a result of which the folding case receives a solid wall all around, which is used in the same way for the upper as well as for the lower part of the case.

A second construction for opening the four bottom parts on the wooden frame is shown in FIG. On the otherwise equally wide sides of the wooden frame, the short sides a ^{1 are} somewhat lower than the long sides a, whereby, after folding down the short base parts d, space is gained for folding down the long base parts b, which in this case have the entire length of the case .

In order to ensure that the unfolded floor parts stand firmly and to prevent them from being pushed in from the outside, the small bolts /, Fig. 7, which are pushed into parts b event, c , are attached to part d.

Fig. 5 shows the opened suitcase with folded bottom parts and with the partition g, which can be removed, whereby the inner trunk can be used as a whole for a larger object. Fig. 6 shows the case open with unfolded floor parts, the partition g removed and lying flat on the sub-floor h. For further practical use of the suitcase, in addition to other contents, a top hat can be packed and protected in the same, and the sheaths i and k are used for this purpose. The upper scabbard i is folded in the hinge /, pushed behind the strips m of the upper case, then the hook η is pressed into the eyelet, whereby the scabbard is held in a straight surface and prevents it from falling out when the case is closed. The simple sheath k is pushed into the running strips of the lower frame, thereby dividing the space r , in which a top hat can be secured and held in place by straps.

The purpose of this case is fulfilled by the described devices and by the addition of a handle 0, Fig. 9, in which the outer lacing straps ρ are drawn in for special use, as the case combines, depending on requirements, by easy changing:

1. a suitcase bag (travel bag),

2. a solid suitcase,

3. a hat box,

4. a plaid strap.

To protect the corners of the case, the metal corner pieces q, Fig. 8, are riveted with a bent edge.
