In the case of the mixed light lamps "- those from a mercury vapor lamp and
, an incandescent lamp, one has so far the mercury vapor lamp in series with
a choke coil placed on the network and parallel to this series arrangement the
Incandescent lamp switched.
The invention relates to a mixed light lamp made from a mercury vapor lamp
and incandescent lamp in which the use of a choke coil is avoided. According to the invention
when mercury vapor lamps are connected in series. and incandescent lamp during
the burn-in time a series resistor in front of the two lamps and in series
possibly a! Parallel resistance to the incandescent lamp switched on, but after
, Expiry of the burn-in time by an automatic device, e.g. B> a glow relay,
switched off. The invention makes the mixed light lamp considerably cheaper,
because the two resistors, and - the automatic switching device
Accessories in terms of price. - Far from the one used so far
Approach the choke coil. Even. ! claim the accessories when they are installed
not as much space in the luminaire as the choke coil, so the luminaire is smaller
Dimensions than 'received so far. By eliminating the losses in the choke coil
the efficiency of the light output is increased.

Invention.
Beide Lampen liegen
in Reihe.
5 angeschlossen. The network to which the M is simple light is connected is denoted by z
is. - 2 is a mercury vapor lamp and 3 is an incandescent lamp. Both lamps are lying
in row. The series arrangement of the two lamps is a series resistor q. upstream.
In addition, a parallel resistor 5 can be connected to the incandescent lamp 3. Both resistances
are temporarily switched by an automatic device. This automatic
In .the. Exemplary embodiment, the device is formed by a glow relay. That
Glow relay contains two contacts that serve as electrodes in a vacuum vessel
6, 7, of which the contact 6 is fixed and the contact 7 on a bimetallic strip
8 is seated. 9 is another permanent contact. At the contacts 7, 9 are the two:
Supply lines to the series resistor 4 and, to the contact 6, a supply line of the parallel resistor
5 connected.
In diesem.
9 an.
The mixed light lamp according to the invention has the following mode of operation:
The drawing shows the circuit diagram with the mixed light lamp switched off. In this.
State of the biinetallic strip 8 is finite its contact T on the fixed contact
9 at. If the mixed-light lamp is switched on, the mercury-vapor lamp is the first step
2 a small voltage, while most of the line voltage on the incandescent lamp
3 lies. This large proportion of the mains voltage is between the electrodes 6 and
7 of the @Glimmreiais effective. The glow relay responds to this high voltage,
in that the bimetallic strip 8 lies against the fixed contact 6. This will
the series resistor 4 in front of the circuit arrangement consisting of mercury vapor lamp and incandescent lamp
switched. At the same time, the parallel resistor 5 is connected in parallel with the incandescent lamp 3.
The Vorwiderstanrnd 4 prevents the incandescent lamp during the burn-in time
the mercury dam @ bulb receives too high a voltage, which will damage the light bulb,
could at least reduce the service life. The parallel resistor 5 becomes
the for. Burning in the mercury vapor, flampe necessary current increases, sc that
The mercury vapor lamp burns in within a short period of time. With
The voltage at the mercury vapor lamp increases,
which reduces the voltage on the incandescent lamp and thus on the glow relay.
The bimetal strip 8 returns to its initial position. By appropriate dimensioning
of the bimetallic strip can be achieved that on its return also the burn-in time
the O_uecksilberdampflampe. is finished. Does the bimetal strip have its starting position
resumed, the series resistor 4 and the parallel resistor 5 are switched off.
The mercury lamp and the incandescent lamp are then directly connected in series
connected to the grid.
