Bras for new mothers

The present innovation concerns a bra for women who have recently given birth.

Since conventional bras have proven to be uncomfortable and impractical for new mothers, special bras have been created for this purpose, which have flaps that can be opened for breastfeeding. The advantage here is that the bra no longer has to be opened every time for breastfeeding. However, these well-known bras are not entirely satisfactory. On the one hand, they are not very comfortable and on the other hand, they are unsuitable for use by hospitals, as they have to be stocked in up to seven different sizes and are also relatively expensive. In order to avoid these problems, attempts have been made, particularly in hospitals, to replace the bra with a simple cloth that can be tied at the back, but this is only a makeshift solution.

The aim of the innovation is to create a particularly inexpensive and comfortable bra for women who have recently given birth.

The bra according to the description is characterized by the fact that it is made of knitted tubular pieces*

Because of its elasticity, the new bra is only available in two different sizes. The breast can be easily removed for breastfeeding without having to take the bra off. In addition, it is skin-friendly and washable. Because it is easy to manufacture, it is also particularly inexpensive. It therefore meets the requirements set by the gynecology departments of hospitals.

Below, an example of the new bra is described using two drawings.

Fig. 1 shows the bra from the front, and Fig. 2 shows the bra from the back.

This bra, intended for women who have just given birth, is made from knitted tube pieces 1, 2 and 3. One tube piece 3 serves as a waistband and two further tube pieces 1 and 2 serve as straps. On the back, the two strap tube pieces 1 and 2 cross before they are connected to the waistband tube piece 3. The front ends 3 and 4 of the two strap tube pieces 1 and 2 are cut open and sewn in an unfolded and thus expanded position to accommodate the bust and connected to the waistband tube piece 3. The bra has no fastener and is simply slipped on to put on.

To ensure that the tubular pieces 1, 2, 3 are stretchable in width, they are made using the right-hand knitting method. Cotton or core yarn, for example, can be used as a skin-friendly and washable material for the tubular pieces 1, 2, 3. The three tubular pieces are best made on a double-cylinder circular knitting machine.

Instead of as explained in the previously described embodiment, the support tube pieces 1 and 2 can also be arranged uncrossed on the back side of the bra and sewn onto the waistband 3.

Bra according to claim 2, characterized in that the front ends (4, 5) of the two support tube pieces (1, 2) are cut open and widened to accommodate the bust, they are connected with their widened end edges to the waistband tube piece (3). 4. Bra according to claim 1, characterized in that the tube pieces (1, 2, 3) are made in a left-right knitting style and are therefore stretchable in their width. 3.
