The innovation concerns a spotlight system with halogen lamps for variable electrical connection to suspended ceilings or walls, shelves, display cases, etc. for targeted illumination of decorations or similar other objects.

With current spotlight systems, it is known that the spotlights are permanently installed in appropriately designed power rails for targeted illumination in the rooms to be illuminated, with the spotlight being permanently connected to the required electronic or electrical elements via one or more connection clips/power rail adapters. This type of connection is disadvantageous in that if the illumination of the room is to be changed, the spotlights cannot simply be electrically connected to another location. This requires a power interruption and a specialist with tools who must carry out the corresponding electrical installation again.

The innovation is therefore based on the task of creating a spotlight system that can be moved from one connection point to another without tools or power interruption, where this is required for targeted illumination.

According to the innovation, this problem is solved by the means specified in the characterising part of the main claim.

Figure 1 shows a single-pole contact socket 2 installed on a suspended ceiling 1 as a plug-in connection point for a spotlight 3 with a single-pole plug part 4, as shown in Figure 3. The contact socket 2 is connected via lines 5 to a transformer not shown in the drawing, which supplies the plug-in spotlight with power, for example with 12 volts.

The contact socket 2 is fixed in corresponding openings la in the ceiling 1 by means of a plate-like, circular or other-shaped cover 6 directly below the ceiling.

The contact socket 2 represents a so-called plug-in point for the beam 3. Within the scope of the innovation, it is advantageous if several such plug-in points or contact points are provided in the ceiling in order to be able to easily vary the beams from one plug-in point to another according to the respective requirements.

In Figure 7, the plug part is connected to a two-pole extension rod 8, which has a coupling part 9 at the end opposite to the plug part, into which the plug part 4 of the radiator 3 can be inserted in a captive manner.

The self-locking is achieved by spring tongues 10 designed as locking elements on the plug part 4, which lock into place when inserted into the contact socket 2 or into the coupling part 9. The locking elements or spring tongues 10 can be released easily by hand.

Figure 4 shows a further embodiment of a radiator 3 connected to a movable angle plug or connector 11 with an extension rod 8. The movable angle plug or connector 11 allows the radiator to be pivoted in an additional plane, this plane being indicated by the angle of the extension rod 8 relative to the radiator 3.

A particular advantage of the new spotlight system compared to the known system with low-voltage rails is that it is not possible to overload the central transformer, even when all possible variations of illumination are fully utilized.
