The invention relates to a bed, in particular a double bed and the like, the frame of which is connected to the frame of a mattress, which has a mattress frame head part that is adjustable in inclination and a mattress frame foot part that is also adjustable in inclination, which are detachably held on pivot arms that are hinged to the frame and can be adjusted about axes that are perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the frame longitudinal beams by means of plug-in connection elements that can be adjusted in the direction of their longitudinal extension.

In order to be able to easily detach the mattress frame headboard and the mattress frame footboard from the swivel fittings of the bed, which are fixed to the frame, if necessary, it is known to attach the mattress frame headboard and the mattress frame footboard to the swivel arms of the swivel fittings using adjustable lengthwise swivel arms.

The object of the invention was to create possibilities with simple means and measures that exclude an unintentional detachment of the mattress frame parts from the swivel arms, without reducing the inherently convenient assembly of the mattress frame parts.

The solution to this task is characterized by one of the following groups of features:

a) a transverse bolt is provided on the swivel arm and this is attached to the mattress frame·-

I _I part a spring with a hole intended for engagement of the bolt is assigned in such a way,

that when the plug connection is closed, the spring runs onto the bolt under pre-tension and the base engages in the hole as it passes through it, relaxing the spring;

b) A bolt extends from the mattress frame part to the swivel arm and there is a hole on the swivel arm for the bolt to engage

A specific spring is assigned in such a way that when the plug connection is closed, the bolt runs onto the spring under its pre-tension and snaps into place when it passes through the hole.

In this way, when the mattress frame parts are adjusted relative to the swivel arms into their closed positions, a positively locking connection is automatically achieved that prevents the mattress frame parts from being accidentally released, which can only be released by lifting the spring off the bolt.

The bolts can be welded or riveted.

A particularly advantageous design of the springs in terms of manufacturing technology and functionality is disclosed in claims 2 and 3.

This swivel fitting 1, which is known per se, is attached to the inside of a bed frame side panel. The swivel fitting 1 essentially comprises two swivel arms 4 and 5, which are articulated on a fastening plate 3 and point opposite one another, two supports 6 and 7 associated with the latter, and a helical compression spring 8 acting on the support 7.

profiled sliders 11 forming straight guides are attached to the swivel arms 4, 5, which are positively attached to the free ends of the swivel arms 4, 5.

The mattress frame parts 9,10 are mounted on the other side of the bed frame (not shown) in the same way as shown.

To secure the plug connections, these are secured against unintentional loosening at least in the area of a swivel fitting 1. Here, a bolt is mounted on each of the swivel arms 4, 5 and a spring 13 is mounted on each of the slides 11. The elongated springs 13, which are preferably designed as leaf springs, are arranged in the same direction as the longitudinal extension of the slides 11 and their end parts facing away from the articulation axis 14 of the swivel arms 4, 5 are permanently attached to the slides 11, while in the other free end parts of the springs 13 there is a 2 µm engagement of the bolt.

specific hole 16 is provided. The free end parts 15 of the springs 13 are bent downwards at an angle so that they form run-up ramps which interact with the bolts 12.

To release these plug connections, the springs 13 simply have to be bent downwards until the springs 13 release the bolts 12, after which the mattress frame parts 9 and 10 can be pulled off the swivel arms 4,5. When the mattress frame parts 9,10 are reassembled, when the sliders 11 are put on the swivel arms 4,5, the free end parts 15 of the springs 13, which have been converted into ramps, run onto the bolts 12 shortly before reaching the target locking bearings shown, and are bent downwards under pre-tension. When the holes 16 of the springs 13 then pass the bolts 12, the springs 13 relax so that the bolts 12 engage in the holes 16 of the springs 13, after which the mattress frame parts 9,10 are secured against unintentional release from the swivel arms 4,5.
