Description
Gas analytical process The invention relates to a method for Determination of the constituent of a gas in gas mixtures, in particular for determination the humidity. The invention is based on the knowledge that on certain Materials that are exposed to the gas mixture to be examined form a layer a component of the gas mixture to be examined precipitates in any form. The invention is based on the further knowledge that the strength of the solid Matter adjacent layer of a certain component depending on the proportion this is, for example, a component of the gas mixture to be examined. So is z. B. observed been that the strength of a water mist adhering to a glass surface is dependent on on the water vapor content of the surrounding gas atmosphere. So it consists in this Similar to other cases, there is an equilibrium between the content of the gas atmosphere of water vapor and the thickness of the water skin on the glass surface. As is well known this water skin can only be finally expelled at very high temperatures.
The invention makes use of this knowledge. t) read according to the invention Method for determining the constituent of a gas in gas mixtures, in particular for the determination of air humidity, consists in that the electrical properties, in particular the electrical conductivity of the surface of a solid matter, such as preferably glass, can be measured in contact with the gas mixture. The procedure can be done in a number of ways.
A very simple form is that of the complex alternating current resistance a measuring arrangement is determined in which the fitting to be examined one or multiple documents are compared in such a way that the different exercise stream predominantly through a constant dielectric and the conduction current through the to investigating fogging is in progress. By separating the displacement current from the Line current that runs through the fitting is achieved that the dielectric constant of solid matter does not affect the measurement. The method can for example be carried out in such a way that the fitting to be examined is interposed of a practically lossless dielectric, two capacitor sheets at a certain distance are applied, the capacitance of this measuring arrangement being determined. At this The two documents are arranged by the opposite fitting added to two capacitors. The resistance between the two capacitors depends on the conductivity and thus on the thickness of the fitting. Appropriate the process is carried out in such a way that the support of the fitting is used as the dielectric serves. For example, glass can be used to determine the humidity of the dielectric, on which a layer of water is deposited, the thickness of which depends on the Humidity is.
Another embodiment of the method can consist in that also with the interposition of a practically lossless dielectric the Be'schlag a capacitor plate is placed, and that in the to be examined Fitting an electrode that is arranged. This only creates a capacitor, where the resistance between the capacitor part in the fitting and the electrode depends on the conductivity.
This electrode can also be replaced by a very large capacity against the fogging.
The measurement of the complex alternating current resistance of this arrangement can basically be carried out with all known methods. So can he complex alternating current resistance according to amount and phase with a back circuit be measured. The complex alternating current resistance can also be made using a resonance method be measured. It is also possible to use a complex alternating current resistance Measure phase jump method.
For the generation and measurement of the high frequency can also be used in addition to others Methods serve the method of the Schwingaudion, in which the generator of the high frequency oscillation at the same time also works as an indicator, so that you can get by with a single tube. This leads to a particularly convenient method with a direct display.
In general, the size of the capacitance and its loss angle with can be measured by any of the many known measurement methods.
A simple embodiment of the method is that the complex alternating current resistance is measured via a change in frequency.
Some practical implementation forms are described below. So z. B. the capacity between the measurement documents the oscillation circuit of a tube generator be connected in parallel with weak, but very frequency-dependent feedback, whose amplitude then forms a measure for the attenuation and detuning of the circuit, which the measuring capacity is parallel.
The simplest implementation of such a generator is the known Huth-Kühn circuit, the grid circle of which contains the measuring capacitance and whose anode circle is adjusted in such a way that the grid circle increases with decreasing Frequency away from the anode circuit resonance, so that the amplitude of the generator both because of increasing damping and because of the growing detuning with increasing Thickness of the water skin decreases.
It goes without saying that such an effect can also be achieved with very many achieve other known circuits. To carry out the procedure, the Measuring device can be adapted to the respective conditions and any arbitrary shape obtain. A simple embodiment consists of two or more capacitor layers, those within a rod-shaped, preferably from a one-sided closed tubular body formed dielectric are arranged.
The invention will be explained in more detail using a schematic representation.
Fig. 1 shows the scheme of a measuring arrangement with which the invention Method can be carried out, while Fig. 2 shows a simple embodiment of the Represents measuring arrangement.
In the example of a principle of the measuring arrangement shown in Fig. 1 the top of the glass plate I is exposed to an atmosphere a, the water content of which should be determined. On the glass plate I forms a water skin 3, whose Strength depends on the water content of the atmosphere 2. Below the glass plate I are two metal documents 4 and 5, e.g. B. from tinfoil strips arranged. By doing 13 stroke 3, on the other hand, essentially flows a line current. The size and the The loss angle of the capacity between 4 and 5 is clearly dependent of the resistance of the water skin 3, which in turn is a measure of its thickness is. The size and the loss angle of this [capacitance can now be changed with any any of the many known methods can be measured.
A particularly simple, easy to manufacture and versatile one Embodiment of a measuring device, which can also be used, for example, for tuning is used for humidity, Fig. '2 shows. With this there is one inside closed glass tube 6, of which only one end serving as a sensor is drawn is, the documents 7 and 81 are arranged. If possible, it must be ensured that the There is no water inside the sensor. The sensor is the one containing water vapor Exposed to air. The layer of water skin 9 is formed on its surface. Instead of the two documents 7 and 8, several Receipts arranged that can be connected to groups in any form.
