Cover arrangement with electrical connections on a spark igniter

Description

The innovation relates to a cover arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1. Such an arrangement is known from DE-GM 86 07.

In this known arrangement, the flat plugs are riveted onto the rubber-coated hard paper cover, which is preferably flanged onto the housing, and the electrical power supply and power discharge connections are soldered into the plug rivets. Insulating strips glued to the hard paper cover are arranged between the flat plugs of different potentials (which can also be designed as double plugs) and towards the edge of the housing.

This makes it possible to use hard paper covers economically in a liquid-impregnated radio interference filter with a housing of 35 mm diameter. No special measures, such as complex, additional insulating material coverings or separating strips for the electrical power supply and discharge lines, have to be taken to make the insulation distances sufficiently long. The assembly of the filter's electrical connections is also simplified.

In practice, however, it has been shown that the design specified in DE-GM 86 07 776 does not always work optimally in terms of radio interference suppression.

The innovation is therefore based on the task of designing the initially specified design order in such a way that the interference suppression effectiveness of the filter is further improved while still being easy to install.

This object is achieved according to the innovation by the features characterized in claim 1^

The one-piece plastic cap and the simple plug design keep the effort involved in creating the filter to a minimum, and thanks to the edge-facing connections, a functionally cost-effective solution has been found.

Advantageous embodiments of the innovation are characterized in the subclaims.

The connecting tongues of the flat plugs (or double flat plugs) can be soldered to the power supply and power discharge connections in one operation by soldering the four collar sleeves.

The crossbar sits in the plastic cap to prevent twisting and provide stiffening.

The metal bridge between the input and output collar sleeves serves to improve the interference suppression effectiveness of the radio interference suppression filter.

The additional cover plate, which covers the opening of the plastic cap, can advantageously be pressed onto the cap opening, in order to protect the cover area of the radio interference filter from splash water.

The collar sleeves are preferably tapered to ensure that they are inserted well into the tabs of the flat plugs when the plastic cap is pressed onto the hard paper cover.

The flat plugs are held in the plastic cap with locking lugs, so that the plugs are secured against being pulled outwards.

The plastic cap itself is secured against being pulled off by a ring nose that fits into the housing’s rim when the cap is pressed on.

According to Fig. 1, the lid arrangement for a housing 1 of a liquid-impregnated radio interference filter designed as a cylindrical cup with a diameter of 35 mm (preferably made of aluminum) consists of a hard paper lid 3 and a plastic cap covering it.

The hard paper cover 3 is laminated with rubber and edged to the housing 1.

The plastic cap 4 has two recesses 5, 6 in its edge area that are open towards the edge and whose cross-section corresponds to the counterpart of linear group plugs. In these recesses 5, 6, as can be seen in particular from Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, there run flat or double flat plugs that are arranged parallel to one another in a grid dimension and that reach through the cap and extend parallel to the surface of the hard paper cover 3.

The flat plugs 7 are each inserted at their ends directed into the interior of the plastic cap, designed as perforated connection tongues 11, onto four collar sleeves 10 riveted onto the hard paper cover 3 and are soldered to them. In the collar sleeves, which taper conically towards the outside, two power supply connections 8 are inserted into the interior of the housing 1 and two power discharge connections 9 are also soldered to them from the interior of the housing 1.

At the connection points of the power supply connections 8 or the

Power supply connections 9 with the flat plugs 7, namely the collar sleeves 10, the plastic cap 4 has an opening 12 which, if there is a risk of splashing water for the radio interference filter, can be covered by pressing on an additional cover (not shown).

The plastic cap 4 also has a crossbar 13, which serves as a reinforcement and to prevent twisting. A metal bar can also be embedded here, which runs between the collar sleeves 10 of different potential and which further increases the interference suppression effectiveness.

To close the housing 1 of the liquid-impregnated radio interference filter with the cover arrangement according to the innovation, the rubber-coated hard paper cover 3 with the four riveted collar sleeves 10 is initially flanged onto the housing 1. The two power supply connections 8 and the two power discharge connections 9 are initially loosely guided through the collar sleeves 10. The plastic cap 4 is then pressed onto the hard paper cover 3 with the two flat or double flat plugs 7 inserted from the outside into the recesses 5 and 6, respectively, and held in the plastic cap 4 by locking lugs, whereby the

into a bead 2 of the housing 1 and is thus held against removal.

The four connecting tongues 11 of the plugs 7 are then soldered on in one operation with the soldering of the four collar sleeves 10. Except for the possibly necessary pressing of an additional cover (not shown here) onto the opening 12 of the plastic cap 4, the assembly of the cover arrangement is completed with these few and relatively inexpensive steps.

Protection claims 1.
