Die Außenform der beiden den Innenraum des Koffers begrenzenden Hartschalen 1 und 2 ist am besten in Fig. 1 zu erkennen. Protection claims

1. Suitcase, in particular a travel suitcase, consisting of two hard shells made of plastic that are of the same shape and size, with elements that extend in the direction of the circumference of the suitcase and that engage with one another in the closed position of the suitcase being attached to the opening edges, characterized in that the hard shells (1, 2) are designed without a fold at their opening edges (3, 4) and the elements that engage with one another are formed by the two halves of a zipper (8) that runs through the handle wall (5) and the two side walls (6, 7) of the suitcase and ends with its two ends at two points that are spaced apart from one another on the base wall (9) of the suitcase, with a flexible hinge strip (10) that is attached to both hard shells (1, 2) being arranged between the two ends of the zipper (8).

and are covered by leather strips or the like (15, 16) to which they are sewn, whereby the leather strips or the like are in turn sewn and/or glued to the hard shells (1, 2).

3. Case according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the opening edges (3, 4) are reinforced at least in the area of the handle wall (5) and over the two side walls (6, 7) by metal strips (18, 19) arranged on the inner surfaces of the hard shells (1, 2), which are attached to the hard shells and through which the handle fastening elements (23) are also passed.

4. Case according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that reinforcing tongues (26) are attached to the corners of the hard shells (1, 2) from the outside, the inner ends of which are guided under the leather strips (15, 16).

5. Suitcase according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the total width of the two leather strips (15, 16) including the zipper (8) located between them corresponds to the width of the hinge strip (10) placed on the outside of the hard shells (1, 2) and sewn and/or glued thereto.
