Device for disinfecting the air with an ion generator

The innovation concerns a device for disinfecting the air with an ion generator that can be attached to the ceiling of a room.

\y It is known that such ion generators make the air germ-free by the ions generated by the ion generator settling on bacteria, dust particles, etc., so that these particles are then carried away by the ion wind generated by the ions. This can also make rooms odor-free.

-ft 10 The aim of the innovation is to propose a device with which goods, in particular foodstuffs, can be sterilized without any problems and, if necessary, on an ongoing basis, preferably at a production site.

To solve this problem, the innovation is characterized in that at least one positively charged electrode is arranged on the ceiling next to the ion generator and at a distance from it.

Through this arrangement of the ion generator and at a distance from it and also on the ceiling, i.e. next to the ion generator - the positively charged electrode is arranged, the room is supplied with an ion wind in such a way that the ion wind blows through the entire air around the

the product to be disinfected is coated so that no more germs can settle on the product.

The arrangement of the ion generator and the electrode, or the electrodes and their distance from the goods to be sterilized, will be adapted to the respective conditions, always in the sense of solving the problem of sterilization, i.e. ensuring that the air around the goods in question is always supplied with the ion wind. This wind starts from the ion generator, passes the goods and then returns to the electrode(s).

This ion wind can be supported by a suitable fan.

The ion generator and the positively charged electrode(s) are designed as a common device, i.e. attached to a common plate, housing part or similar.

A particularly good effect is achieved if the electrode is designed as a double electrode with a lower, positively charged grid, above which there is a grid connected to ground at a distance from it and parallel to it. This achieves a large potential difference with little technical effort.

It serves the same purpose if the housing of the ion generator and/or the grounded grid of the double electrode is suspended from the ceiling via at least one electrically conductive strip (metal strip or similar). The housing of the ion generator or the upper grid of the double grid electrode is then suspended from the ceiling via this metal strip.

The innovation is explained in more detail below using an example from which further important features emerge.

The figure shows a schematic view of a room in which a device is installed after the innovation.

The room has a floor 1, which usually represents mass, i.e. is negatively charged. On the floor 1 there is a symbolically indicated work table 2 or similar, which forms a production area for goods 3 (food or similar).

The ceiling 4 of the room is also connected to ground, an ion generator 6 and double grid electrodes 7 are suspended from the ceiling via metal bands 5.

The double grid electrodes 7 consist of a lower, positively charged grid 8, which is connected via electrical insulators to an upper, grounded grid 9, which in turn is grounded via the metal strips 5.

The housing of the ion generator 6 is also connected to ground via the metal strips 5, but not the brush electrode of the ion generator, which emits ions.

The emitted ions generate an ion wind, which is indicated by the arrows 9. The ion wind emanates from the ion generator 6, which is preferably located essentially above the product 3. The wind then passes past the product 3 and returns in a cycle

to the positively charged electrode(s) 7 suspended next to the ion generator 6, so that the air in the room is kept practically germ-free, odor-free and dust-free.

The voltage between the positive grid electrode and the ground is preferably between about 2000 and 3000 volts per meter. This voltage range can fluctuate between 1500 and 3000 volts per meter.

The ion generator 6 and the double grid electrode 7 can also be suspended or otherwise attached independently of one another at suitable locations on the ceiling 4. The suspension has the advantage that the distance between these components and the goods 3 to be treated can be adjusted accordingly.

Device for arrangement on the ceiling for disinfecting the air with an ion generator that can be attached to the ceiling of the room, characterized in that an electrode 7 is provided next to the ion generator 6 at a distance from it, which is designed as a double electrode with a lower grid 8 and a parallel upper grid 9 resting on insulating bodies thereon. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized characterized in that at least one electrically conductive band 5 is arranged on the housing of the ion generator 6 or on the grid 9 of the double electrode for hanging from the ceiling. 3.
