Erfindungsgemäß wird derart verfahren, daß ein überfangenes Glas mit einem zweiten überfangenen Glas durch oberflächliches Verschmelzen so verbunden wird, daß die beiden ungefärbten Grundglasschichten aufeinanderfallen. Es entsteht dabei eine in Schichten gefärbte Glastafel, deren Färbung in der Reihenfolge gefärbte Überfangschicht, farbloses, getrübtes oder milchglasartiges Glas und wiederum gefärbte Überfangschicht verläuft.
