Die Versärkung kann aber auch durch Aufkleben eines Streifens aus dem gleichen Mateial hergestellt werden. Zweckmäßig wird die Verstärkung bzw. Seele bereits während der Herstellung des Ausgangsmaterials, wie Pappe, Papier od. dgl., oder aber auch noch nachträglich an zugeschnittenen Verpackungen angebracht. Bei reißschlechtem oder zu starkem Verpackungsmaterial wird die abscherende Wirkung der Verstärkung außerdem durch eine Perforierung unterstützt.
