Description
For the production of aniline, alizarin and similar dyes, the coal army has hitherto been used respectively the aromatic ones obtainable from the same by fractional distillation Hydrocarbons served as the starting material. A similar range of hydrocarbons is also found in natural mineral oils, and their use in the manufacture of The present invention relates to dyes.
B. die bei der Reinigung mit Schwefelsäure entfallenden sauren Rückstände (Reinigungsabfallsäure).Attempts have already been made (see Ber.XVIII, p. 2234fr.) To subject refined petroleum, such as that produced for burning purposes, to nitration and thereby obtain a mixture of trinitropseudocumene and trinitromesitylene from this petroleum. The method used for this purpose raw material was obtained in the manner, that crude petroleum subjected to distillation, the distillate is treated with sulfuric acid and the thus purified oil was subjected to a repeated distillation at about 190 0 C.. On the other hand, according to the present invention, it is precisely the constituents which can be removed from the crude petroleum by means of sulfuric acid that serve as the starting material. Accordingly, only such petroleum will have to be processed which has not yet been subjected to purification with sulfuric acid, or those petroleum products will be used which contain all or some of the components mentioned, such as e.g. B. the acid residues that are left out of cleaning with sulfuric acid (cleaning waste acid).
Salz abscheiden.Such products (crude petroleum or its distillates or refining residues) are made subjected to the action of a mixture of sulfuric and nitric acids. It recommends to apply one part nitric acid to three parts sulfuric acid in the mixture. These However, proportions can be changed, as can the proportion of the acid mixture to the OeI depending on the nature of the OeI subject to the treatment and depending according to the amount of sulfuric acid already present in the starting material, one Subject to change. Crude oil requires about 25 pCt., While distillates 2 to 10 pCt. and Residues up to 5 pCt. Require nitriric acid. After nitration, which is the case with ordinary Temperature and with stirring z. B. done by means of a compressed air flow and after separating the acid mixture from the unchanged OeI by heating to about 60 to 80 ° C. or by letting it stand, and after washing of the product of nitration with cold water, the portion soluble in hot water becomes which consists of a mixture of various higher nitro products with calcium carbonate or caustic lime or another substance acting in the same way. From the solution obtained you can Dye by adding hydrochloric acid, common salt and the like directly or only after conversion separate into the potassium, ammonium etc. salt.
100 kg Rohpetroleum, wie es z. B. in Ohio gewonnen wird, versetzt man mit 25 kg Nitrirsäure, welche auf 1 Gewichtstheil Salpetersäure 3 Gewichtstheile Schwefelsäure enthält, und100 kg of crude petroleum, as it is for. B. Ohio is obtained, 25 kg of nitriric acid are added to 1 part by weight of nitric acid Contains 3 parts by weight of sulfuric acid, and
Letzterer kann gewünschtenfalls durch Lösen in wenig kochendem Wasser und durch nochmaliges Aussalzen gereinigt werden.stir the mixture well at ordinary temperature, until a sample, from which the acid has been allowed to settle, is no longer or only slightly discolored on the addition of fresh, concentrated acid. Now, even when the reaction mixture is left to stand, the acid mixed with the hydrocarbon will voluntarily separate from the unchanged oil. The acid can then be separated from the oil layer by decantation or in some other way. The acid mixture is then stirred at a temperature of about 15 ° C. until a sample dissolves in a hot alkali solution. The mixture is then washed in the same amount of cold water, which is repeated until a sample of the reaction product dissolves in boiling water. Now you bring the mass to the boil with four times the amount of water, let it settle, decant from the insoluble part and repeat this treatment with boiling water as long as something still dissolves. The solutions obtained in the various Auskochungen be mixed with each other and treated with milk of lime of about 4 0 B. is not changed to more blue litmus paper; it is then boiled for several hours and left to stand. The calcium salts, which are insoluble in water, settle and are separated from the supernatant solution by decantation or filtration. From this solution, which contains the nitro product which forms a water-soluble calcium salt, the lime is precipitated as carbonate with a soda solution of advantageously 10 0 B. The Natronsalzlösung thus obtained is evaporated to about 5 0 B. and saturated with sodium chloride, precipitation of the dye. If desired, the latter can be cleaned by dissolving it in a little boiling water and salting out again.
The dye obtained by the process described has the shape of a reddish color brown amorphous powder which is soluble in water, glycerin and acetone; he differentiates thereby differs quite essentially from the product which is obtained according to the above-mentioned treatise and is crystalline, yellowish white and is not a dye. The dye shows in its solutions, especially in acetone, a bluish green fluorescence. It forms a soluble calcium salt and has the characteristic odor of flammable petroleum when it is heated to a high degree. He dyes silk and wool in acidified solutions without a stain reddish brown.
The nitro product can also be obtained if the petroleum is first sulphonated and then, with the aid of nitric acid or nitrous acid, the sulfoproduct in a known manner Way nitrates.
