Die bisher gebräuchlichen Plomben, bei welchen der in das Innere der Plombe eingeführte Schnurknoten durch Zudrücken des Plombenmaules vor dem Herausziehen gesichert wird, bieten insofern nicht genügende Sicherheit gegen unbefugtes ■ Oeffnen, als es möglich ist, das Plombenmaul ohne Beschädigung der Deckel- und Bodenprägung zu öffnen und dann den Schnurknoten zu lösen. Hierauf wird die Plombe in der gewöhnlichen Weise mit einem geeigneten Werkzeug, Zange oder dergleichen, mit der Prägung versehen, wodurch sie die aus Fig. 4 und 5 ersichtliche Form erhält. Die beiden Enden des Splintes kommen hierbei, wie in Fig. 4 und 5 punktirt angedeutet, in das Prägebild zu liegen.
