Die Filter, bei denen die Abdichtung und die Pressung der Filtermasse mittelst an den Seitenwä'nden angebrachter Flügelschrauben erfolgt, sind so eingerichtet, dafs durch Anziehen der Flügelschrauben das Pressen der Filtermasse und die Abdichtung des Deckels zugleich bewirkt wird. Diese Einrichtung hat den Nachtheil, dafs die Pressung der Filtermasse stets eine begrenzte ist, da die Deckelabdichtung sich nicht im gleichen Mafse wie die Filtermasse zusammenpressen läfst. Zwar versucht man diesem Uebelstand dadurch abzuhelfen, dafs man die Füllung an Filtermasse vor ihrer Pressung genau bestimmt, doch läfst sich die Menge der benöthigten Filtermasse nicht so genau feststellen, so dafs bei etwas zu stark bemessener Füllung die Deckelabdichtung nicht genügend geprefst wird, während im entgegengesetzten Falle, also bei zu geringer Füllung, der Deckel zwar genügend abdichtet, dafür aber dann die Masse nicht genügend geprefst wird.The filters, in which the sealing and the compression of the filter material mean on the Side walls of attached wing screws are set up so that they can be tightened the wing screws the pressing of the filter material and the sealing of the lid is effected at the same time. Der Deckel α hat zur Versteifung am Rande einen Ring b. Aufserdem sind je nach der Gröfse des Filters eine Anzahl Z-förmig gebogener Bügel c auf dem Deckel befestigt. Auf diesen Deckel drücken Hakenschrauben d, die mittelst Flügelmuttern/ angezogen werden. Sie dienen zur Pressung der Filtermasse. Zwischen dem oben erwähnten Bügel b und der über den Deckel vorstehenden Cylinderwandung g ist zur Abdichtung des Deckels ein Gummiring h eingelegt; derselbe wird mittelst eines schmiedeisernen Ringes i durch Stellschrauben k auf die Dichtung geprefst. Die Stellschrauben k sind durch die Bügel c eingeschraubt, zu welchem Zwecke der auf den Bügel drückende Theil einer Hakenschraube gabelförmig ausgebildet ist, so dafs ein Anziehen der Stellschrauben k jederzeit möglich ist, unabhängig von den die Pressung bewirkenden Hakenschrauben.The cover α has a ring b for reinforcement on the edge.
