Description
Ozaphanfilm.Process for the production of slides with positive working Diazo layers It is known that diazo compounds and hydrophilic Layer supports can build up pliotograp'IiisclieMaterialien, which can be used for production suitable for slides. A cellulose hydrate film forms with these materials the carrier of the photosensitive substance. Your photosensitivity is not true so big that you can make direct recordings finitely with their help, they are suitable but very good as copy materials. Such a material is e.g. B. the so-called ozaphane film.
Since the finite diazo compounds built up liotogralilii: cliL, ii Layers in the majority of the h @ i11e positive arlrciten, one must in order to make correct copies 'to be able to use a photographic positive. This positive must, in order to enable attractive copies on diazo layers, the character and be adapted to the properties of the latter. Now the gradation works more positively iDiazo layers are very hard, and consequently the photographic positives must accordingly be kept soft. The hard gradation of the positive working diazo layers also has the consequence that contrasts of the original are intensified, which property z. B. is used in the blueprint technique with the so-called intensifying screens.
There are also diazo layers, which are negative work. In contrast to the positive working layers, these have a very soft gradation.
It has now been found that duplicates having considerable merit on positive side epden diazo layers, especially slides, are thereby preserved that you can get them from one using negative working diazo layers 'produced intermediate positive pulls. So it turns out to be a photographic one Recording resulting negative only becomes a positive on a negative working light-sensitive Diazotype layer is produced, from which then with positive working layers the final Copies are made.
Because the opacity of the negative working layers Dyes against the light of the copier are very large, these layers allow when they are used to produce further copies on positive-working layers a relatively strong overexposure without any disappearance of Details occurs. However, exposure fluctuations in the photographic can be very good as a result Recordings balanced or impurities in the picture to be recorded are contained, are bleached away.
The danger . the uneven exposure is particularly common in the micrographic reproduction of books because there are differences in paper quality, the degree of yellowing through age with regard to similar coverage of the Single images very aggravating. Old books also often show mold stains, Traces of fire or similar soiling reproduced in photographic recordings will. All of these make the overall impression and especially the legibility of the slides In many cases, debilitating disorders can be addressed by using negative make working diazo layers harmless to produce the intermediate positive. The use of the negative working diazo layers according to the present invention also enables substantial savings in photographic silver material, what is also very important.
Example For the production of positive copies of photographic negatives, z. B. a micrographic recording of a book, you make from the original recording, i.e. a (silver) negative, by copying it onto a negative-working Diazoschic.ht a positive and then draws copies of it onto positive-working diazo layers. These can either be a cellulose hydrate film, an acetyl cellulose film, the can optionally also be stiffened on one or both sides of the surface, or a have any other suitable material as a carrier.
Since the micrograph of a book, for example in the format 9 X 12 ccn, which requires a large number of small images produced by single exposure there is also a great risk that exposure fluctuations will occur during work, the different densities of the individual images. Made by on such a negative a silver positive in the usual photographic way, see above this will also show the exposure differences. When copying this Positive to positive working diazo layers «-ground these differences even further amplified, which leads to unsatisfactory, sometimes difficult to read copies.
But if you first add an intermediate positive from the silver negative of the present invention on a negative working diazo layer, so can the mentioned density fluctuations are largely compensated for and the others are retained Copies in an entirely satisfactory execution.
