Durch das Patent Nr. 77254 ist eine Maschine zur Herstellung geschnittener' Nägel geschützt, auf welcher durch ein Messerpaar rhomboedrische Stücke für jeden einzelnen Nagel abgeschnitten werden, während ein zweites Messerpaar zum Abstumpfen der einen Spitze für die Kopfbildung und zur Weiterbeförderung des abgeschnittenen Stückes dient.
