In ein Doppelbett umwandelbare Sofas sind an
sich bekannt. Im allgemeinen ist die Anordnung
bei derartigen Sofas so getroffen, daß die zur Her-
stellung der Doppelbettbreite erforderlichen Teile
unter der Sofasitzfläche angebracht und im Bedarfs-
falle herausgezogen werden, wobei unter Um-
ständen auch die Lehne 'heruntergeklappt und somit
für die Bettbreite ausgenutzt wird. Hierdurch
entsteht eine Anordnung, der sofort anzusehen ist,
daß es sich um ein Umwandlungsmöbel handelt
und das infolgedessen einen wenig anziehenden
Anblick bietet. Die Einrichtungen sind außerdem
verwickelt, erfordern Hebel, Federn u. dgl. Teile,
die erheblichen Herstellungsaufwand verursachen.
Es ist auch schon vorgeschlagen worden, daß ledig-
lich die Rüokenlefhne heruntergeklappt wird, wobei
der Drehpunkt für die Rückenlehnenfläche in der
Achse ihres Längsholms vorgesehen ist. Hierdurch
wird zwar erreicht, daß ein wesentlich geringerer
Aufwand an Werkstoff für die Herstellung eines
solchen umwandelbaren Sofas benötigt wird, indes
wird die Lehne für das Sofa außerordentlich 'hoch,
so daß das Möbel bei der Benutzung als Sofa
unzweckmäßig ist und unschön wirkt. Außerdem
müssen die Stirnteile für das zweite Bett, das durch
Herunterklappen der Lehne gebildet wird, aus den
Seitenteilen des Sofas herausgezogen werden.
Ferner müssen besondere Vor'kchrungen getroffen
werden, daß die Lehne in 'hochge'klapptem Zustand
standfest ist, was den Nachteil mit sich bringt,
daß hierzu mehr oder minder verwickelte Ein-
richtungen benötigt werden.
Die Erfindung hat es sich zum Ziele gemacht,
ein in ein Doppelbett umwandelbares Sofa, bei
welchem die Rückenlehne herunterklappbar ist, zu
schaffen, das unter sparsamstem Werkstoffverbrauch
und ohne irgendwelche Gelenkarme, Federn und
sonstige, das Möbel verwickelt gestaltende Teile
hergestellt werden kann, wobei außerdem beim Ge-
brauch des Möbels als Sofa diesem praktisch nicht
anzusehen ist, daß es sich um ein Umwandlungs-
möbel handelt und dasselbe einen gefälligenAnblick
bietet, der der jeweiligen Geschmacksrichtung an-
gepaßt werden 'kann.
Gemäß der Erfindung wird zur Lösung dieser
Aufgabe vorgeschlagen, die mit losen Polstern
belegte Rückenlehne in der Höhe der ebenfalls mit
losen Polstern belegten Sitzfläche an den nach
hinten über die Sitzflächenbreite'hinaus verlängerten
Seitenteilen anzuleniken. Das Anlenken geschieht
unter entsprechender Bemessung der Rückenlehnen-
flächenbreite so, daß die aufrechtgestellte Rücken-
lehne bis etwa zum Boden reicht. Wenn sie jedoch
in die waagerechte, durch angelenkte Füße gestützte
Lage gebracht wird, bildet sie mit der Sitzfläche
zusammen eine praktisch fortlaufende Liegefläche
von Doppelbettbreite.
Im nachstehenden wird der Erfindungsgedanke
an einem in der Zeichnung dargestellten Aus-
führungsbeispiel näher erläutert. Es zeigt

Wie aus Abb. i ersichtlich, zeigt das Möbel, als
Sofa aufgestellt, das Bild eines modernen Möbel-
stückes, bestehend aus den Seitenteilen i, der Sitz-
fläche 2 mit aufgelegten Polstern 3. Die Rücken-
lehne besteht ebenfalls aus zwei Polstern 4. Es ist
selbstverständlich möglich, an Stelle zweier
Polster 3 für die Sitzfläche oder zweier Polster 4
für die Rückenlehne nur je ein Polster oder
beispielsweise auch je drei oder mehr Polster zu
verwenden, oder auch Rückenlehne und Sitzfläche
je mit einer festen Polsterung zu versehen.
Gemäß der Erfindung ist die Anordnung so
getroffen, daß die Seitenteile i nach hinten über
die Breite der Sitzfläche 2 'hinaus verlängert sind.
In Höhe der Sitzfläche 2 ist am Ende der Seiten-
teile i der Gelenkpunkt oder Drehpunkt 5 für die
Rückenlehnenfläche 6 vorgesehen. Die Breite der
Fläche 6 entspricht praktisch der Breite der
Fläche 2, und. sie ist in dem Gelenkpunkt 5 so an-
geordnet, daß sie in der hochgestellten Lage
(Abb. 2) bis etwa zum Boden reicht. In herunter-
geklapptem Zustand (Abb.3) stützt sie sich auf
die herausklappbaren Füße 7 ab, und die beiden
Flächen 2 und 6 bilden eine praktisch fortlaufende
Fläche von Doppelbettbreite. Die Seitenteile i sind
rückwärtig durch eine Leiste i i verbunden, auf die
die Rückenlehne 6 sich unter Entlastung der
Gelenkstellen zusätzlich abstützt, wenn die Lehne
heruntergeklappt ist.
Um das Sofa (Abb. 2) in das Doppelbett (Abb. 3)
zu verwandeln, ist nichts weiter erforderlich, als
die Fläche 6, an der die Polster 4. auf einer schmalen
unteren Querleiste stehend oder mittels Zier-
schnüren oben hängend befestigt sind, !herunterzu-
klappen, wobei sie sich auf die Füße 7 aufstellt. In
der Stellung als Sofa ist die aus der Lehnenfläche 6
und dem Polster 4 gebildete Lehne durch die gegen-
seitige Lage der Leihnen-, Sitzflachen- und Seiten-
teile zueinander praktisch festgestellt, ohne daß
hierzu irgendwelche besonderen Teile, wie Hebel-
arme, Federn o. dgl., erforderlich wären.
Um das Herunterklappen der Lehne 6 in die
waagerechte Lage durchzuführen, wird das Möbel,
sofern es an der Wand steht, von dieser abgerückt.
Zu diesem Zweck können unter den Seitenteilen i
Rollen 8 vorgesehen sein. Es ist aber auch möglich,
an Stelle solcher Rollen S Gleitleisten oder Gleit-
nägel vorzuselhen, wie (lies in der -Möbelindustrie
an sich bekannt ist.
Es ihat sich als zw-eckmiißig erwiesen, den Ge-
len'kpunkt 5 etwa in einem Drittel der Breite der
Fläche 6 anzubringen, obgleich selbstverständlich
auch andere Abstandsverhältnisse gewählt werden
können. Jedenfalls ermöglicht es der Erfindungs-
gedanke, das Maß des über der Sitzfläche sicht-
baren Teiles der Rückenlehne in seinem Verhältnis
zur Breite der Sitzfläche sowie zur Gesamtbreite
und Gesamthöhe des Möbels den allgemein gültigen
Maßverhältnissen der gefälligen und bequemen
Sofakonstruktionen genau anzupassen, und weiter,
den durch die Lage des Drehpuii'ktes der Lehne 6
bestimmten Abstand zwischen Sitzfläche 2 und
Lehne 6 (Abb. 3) genau in der Größe zu 'halten, daß
das an sich frei liegende Ende des Polsters 3 auch
im ungünstigsten Fall nicht durchgedrückt werden
kann. Als Auflagepolster können solche in @handels-
üblichen Abmessungen, wie es das Ausführungs-
beispiel zeigt, wie auch in anderen zweckmäßigen
Abmessungen verwandt werden.
Die im
außen an der Lehnen-
fläc'he angelenkten Füße 7 können vorteilhaft auch
so angeordnet werden, daß sie im einsgeklappten
Zustand innerhalb der Rückenleilinenfläche liegen.
Auch können statt der drei im Ausführungsbeispiel
gezeigten Füße 7 natürlich mehr oder nur zwei
Füße angeordnet werden.
Aus Abb. 4 wird besonders deutlich, wie wenig
Holz benötigt wird, uni ein Sofa gemäß der Er-
findung 'herzustellen. Die Seiteiitei1Q i sind durch
die Längsholme und die Rückenleiste i i mitein-
ander verbunden. Die I_'iiigslliolme 9 bilden zu-
sammen mit den Brettern io die Sitzfläche 2, auf
der die Polster 3 aufgelegt werden. Es ist selbst-
verständlich, daß an Stelle der Bretter io auch
Draihtgeflecht, Eisenbändergeflecht oder sonstige
Mittel benutzt werden 'können, die in der Möbel-
industrie für die Herstellung von Sitzflächen
üblich und gebräuchlich sind. Ebenso kann das
ganze Möbel natürlich statt aus holz ganz oder zu
einzelnen Teilen aus einem anderen zweckdien-
lichen Material, wie etwa Eisen, Leiclitnietall.usw.,
hergestellt werden. Die Fläche 6 für die Rücken-
lehne wird entsprechend der Fläche 2 hergestellt
und bei dem Drehpunkt 5 an den nach hinten ver-
längerten Seiten i angeleakt. Das Gelenk kann
dabei in einfacher Weise aus einem Eisenstift be-
stehen, der in einem entsprechenden Besc'hlagteil
mit Vertiefungen eingreift. Selbstverständlich ist
es aber auch möglich, den Gelenkpunkt durch einen
Holzzapfen darzustellen, der in eine entsprechende
Bohrung eingreift. Das Möbelstück ist in seine ein-
zelnen Teile, d.'h. die beiden Seitenteile, die Sitz-
fläche, die Rückenlehne und die Polster .jederzeit
zerlegbar und aus diesen Bestandteilen in 'kurzer
Zeit ohne Hilfsmittel wieder zusammensetzbar.
Den Seitenteilen i kann je nach Geschmack eine
gefällige Form verliclien werden, wie beispielsweise
in All>. 5 dargestellt. Es ist aber auch möglich., die
Seitenteile mit einer Bespannung zu versehen oder
mit einem Geflecht aus irgendwelchen Werkstoffen,
wie sie in der Möbelindustrie üblich sind. Da die
Seitenteile i über die Sitzflächenbreite hinaus nach
rückwärts verlängert sind, um dem Drehpunkt 5
für die Rückenlehne den notwendigen Abstand von
der Sitzfläche 2 zu verschaffen, überragt der Seiten-
teil i die Sitzflächenbreite um ein beträchtliches
und bildet, wenn das Möbelstück als Doppelbett
benutzt wird, auch auf hinreichend langer Strecke
die Stirnteile für das zweite Bett, so daß es nicht
notwendig ist, umständliche Mittel vorzusehen, um
aus den Seitenteilen Ergänzungen für die Stirnteile
herauszuziehen, ohne daß 'hierbei die Gefahr auf-
tritt, daß das Bettzeug nicht zufriedenstellend ge-
halten wird.
Das Möbelstück 'kann auch mit einer Vorrichtung
zur selbsttätigen Einstellung der 'kopfkeilförmigen
Erhöhung der Polster versehen werden. Abb. 6, 7
und 8 zeigen ein Ausführungsbeispiel für eine solche
Vorrichtung, die durch Abziehen des Möbels von
der Wand und durch das Herunterklappen der
Rückenlehne selbsttätig die kopfkeilförmige Er-
höhung der Kopfpolster bewerkstelligt und die
lediglich aus einfachen Leisten und einfachen Ge-
lenken besteht.
An der Sitzfläche 2 ist am Kopfende eine zusätz-
liche Querleiste 12 vorgesehen, die zwischen zwei
Querlatten io der Sitzfläche angeordnet ist und in
Nuten der Holme 9 auf diesen aufliegt. Unter
dieser Querleiste sind Füße 13 einseitig angelenkt,
deren Länge größer ist als der Abstand der Sitz-
fläChe 2 vom Fußboden. Bei Verwendung des
Möbels als Sofa stehen die Füße schräg (vgl.
Abb.6). Wird das Sofa zur Umwandlung in ein
Doppelbett von der Wand abgerückt, so stellen sich
die Füße 13, deren Enden mit einem rauihen Belag,
beispielsweise Gummi o. d;gl., verse'h:en sind, senk-
recht (vgl. Abb. 7) und 'lieben damit über die Quer-
leiste 12 das Polster 3 entsprechend an. Bei der Zu-
rückwandlung des -.,%4öbels in ein Sofa und damit
Zurückschieben an die Wand 'klappen die Füße 13
selbsttätig wieder in die Lage nach Abb. 6 um und
führen die Querleiste 12 wieder in ihre Normallage
zurück, so daß nunmehr das Polster wieder glatt
aufliegt.
Auch in der Rückenlehne ist eine Vprrichtung
angebracht, die gestattet, das Polster bei Umwand-
lung in ein Bett selbsttätig in die kopfkeilförmige
Lage zu bringen. Diese Vorrichtung besteht aus
einer Querleiste 14, die zwischen den Rasterbrettern
der Rückenlehne angeordnet ist. Sie ist mittels
einer Stange 16 o. dgl. an der Rückenleiste i i an-
gelenkt und besitzt außerdem einen 'herunterklapp-
baren Fuß 15, wobei der Abstand des oberen Endes
der Stange 16 vom Fußboden so groß ist, daß bei
heruntergeklappter Lehne das keilförmige Anheben
des Polsters 4 über die Leisten 14 gegeben ist. Die
Länge des Fußes 15 wird entsprechend gewählt.
Sowohl bei der Sitzfläche als auch bei der Lehne
kann an Stelle der Leiste 12 bzw. 14 ein Brett ver-
wendet werden.
Das Möbel 'kann auch dergestalt in ein Doppel-
bett umgewandelt werden, daß die Rückenlehne 6
beim Umklappen sich nicht auf angelenkte Füße 7,
sondern auf an der Wand der Fußleiste oder am
Fußboden angebrachte tragende Elemente, bei-
spielsweise Konsolen auflegt. Zu dieser Ausfüh-
rungsform gehört zweckmäßig eine einfache Fest-
stellvorrichtung, die die Abzugsstrecke des Möbels
von der Wand genau bestimmt. Dadurch wird eine
besonders rationelle Ausnutzung des Wohnraumes
und die Einbeziehung der Wand als Seitenstirn-
fläche für das Bett erreicht. Die Feststellvorrich-
tung besteht aus im Fußboden befestigten Feststell-
punkten üblicher Art oder aus Schienen, auf denen
die Feststellpunkte angebracht sind.
Die beschriebene und dargestellte Ausführungs-
form stellt lediglich ein Beispiel dar, auf dag die
Erfindung nicht beschränkt sein soll. Es sind viel-
mehr in den gegenseitigen Größenverhältnissen als
auch in den Anordnungen zueinander Abwandlun-
gen möglich, ohne daß 'hierdurch vom Grund-
gedan'ken der Erfindung abgewichen würde.
