Der Grundgedanke der Erfindung ist somit folgender: Im sogenannten HandlB?eich braucht die Regaltiefe nicht größer zu sein als 80 cm, weil man ohnehin nicht weiter hineingreifen kann. Die Idee besteht somit darin, die Doppelregale so auszuführen, daß sie im Unterbereich schmal sind und ab ca. 2 m jeweils um 40 cm vorgezogen werden. In dem schmalen Unterbereich können auch die Paletten untergebracht werden, aber mit der schmalen Seite von 80 cm. Wenn z. B. im oberen Bereich drei Paletten untergebracht werden, werden im Kommissionierungsbereich zwei angelagert. Der einzige Nachteil ist, daß der obere Gang schmäler wird um 80 cm und daß die Regalkosten etwas höher werden. Dem steht der enorme Vorteil gegenüber, daß man auf der gleichen Fläche 50 % mehr Paletten unterbringen kann. Ein wesentlicher Vorteil liegt auch darin, daß auch unterhalb oder in der als Sims vorspringenden Kante eine Lichtleiste längs des Regales untergebracht werden kann, wodurch der Kommissionierungsbereich ideal ausgeleuchtet wird. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist der, daß die Regalbedienungsgeräte bis 2 m Höhe über zusätzlichen Raum verfügen, was zum Drehen und Manövrieren der Geräte sehr nützlich ist, zumal bei der vorgesehenen Konstruktion keine störenden seitlichen Säulen die Gestelle abstützen müssen, sondern der mittlere Teil den Schwerpunkt freitragend aufnimmt.
