Contact device for small magneto-electric generators, in particular for bicycle alternators The invention relates to contact springs for small magneto-electric generators, in particular for bicycle alternators, in which the connection between the current-carrying armature shaft and the ground is made by a contact spring, one end of which is resiliently on the rotating armature shaft rests. In the previously known t designs of this type (patents 718291 and 726882) , the contact spring was riveted to a housing part or the like. The relevant housing part or the like and the contact spring therefore each had to be provided with at least one rivet hole. In addition, the spring had to be riveted in a special operation. This attachment was relatively cumbersome and expensive. Furthermore, when replacing a used spring, removing the old one and attaching a new one was cumbersome. According to the invention, the disadvantages mentioned are eliminated in that the end of the contact spring facing away from the sliding contact point is curved in an annular shape and the housing surrounding the armature shaft cAgl. is provided with an annular groove corresponding to the cross section of the contact spring, into which the curved end of the contact spring can be inserted like a snap ring. This means that the attachment and replacement of the contact spring can be carried out quickly with a few simple steps. The previously required rivet holes and rivets are no longer necessary.
The contact spring is advantageously designed as a spiral spring whose
inner turn rests as a sliding contact on the armature shaft, while the outer
Winding engages like a snap ring in the annular groove. This is in addition to an appropriate
Design of the spring also achieved,
that in the available
standing room a large suspension length can be accommodated, whereby a
further elastic contact is achieved at the contact point.
Furthermore, according to the invention, there are more at the inner end of the spiral spring
as a turn on top of or next to each other. This ensures that after looping through
a contact point of the spring in operation yet another spring cross-section than
Sliding contact is available, increasing the life of the spring with simple
Funds is extended significantly.
According to a further idea of the invention, the training and arrangement
the contact spring taken so that the inner end of the coil of the spring from the sliding contact point
extends beyond more than half the circumference of the armature shaft exposed, so
that the distance between the sliding contact point on the one hand and the inner end
the spring, on the other hand, is smaller than the diameter of the armature shaft. Through this
it is achieved that after a contact point has been looped through, the ground end
the spring cannot fall, but gets stuck on the armature shaft. In order to
the previously possible disadvantage is eliminated that by a ground contact spring end
Damage to the surrounding internal parts of the device can be caused.
The drawing illustrates two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention.
It shows Fig. I a bicycle alternator on an enlarged scale with partial
Longitudinal section, Fig. 2 a cross section through the alternator along the cutting line
A-B of Fig. I and Fig. 3 a second embodiment of the contact spring in section.
In the housing part i and the interior of the not shown
Housing 2 of the alternator, armature shaft 3 with armature 4 is known per se
Way rotatably mounted. The trained in the embodiment as a ground spring
Contact spring consists of a spiral 5, which is rectangular according to Figs. I and 2
Has cross-section. A sufficiently long part of the outer coil of the coil spring
5 is inserted into a corresponding annular groove 6 of the housing part i like a snap ring.
The inner part of the spiral spring is designed so that at least two turns
lie on top of each other. The arrangement is such that the inner turn
the spring 5 from the sliding contact point 7 over more than half the circumference of the
Armature shaft 3 extends exposed so that the distance between the sliding contact point
7 and the inner end 8 of the spiral spring 5 smaller than the diameter of the armature shaft
3 is. Fig.3 shows a contact spring spiral9-made of round spring wire. The inner one
Part of this wire spiral 9 consists of two or more adjacent turns.
Since with this arrangement of the windings the given contact pressure is at the sliding contact point
Distributed to the number of coils present, the life of the spring is increased
significantly longer than one with only one contact turn. aside from that
This has the advantage that at the point of the largest electrical
Contact resistance, the contact area is enlarged in an advantageous manner.
