Es wurde gefunden, daß zur Bekämpfung von kleinen Raub- und Nagetieren, wie Hermelinen, Ratten, Wühlmäusen und Maulwürfen, solche Fallen besonders wirksam und waidgerecht sind, die mit Widerlagern und federbelasteten Greifeisen in das Erdreich einführbar sind und zur Auslösung vom Tier durch Abdruck oder Abzug den Gang des Schädlings umgreifen. Diese besondere von der Erfindung gelöste Aufgabe besteht in der Ausbildung einer Klemmfalle, die um den Gang in das Erdreich gesetzt werden kann, ohne eine warnende Verletzung hervorzurufen. Eine solche Verletzung wird auch vermieden, wo der Boden durch aufgeworfene Haufen und angenagte Pflanzenwurzeln besonders locker ist. Die Klemmfallen ergreifen das Tier sicher und töten es; denn, wenn der Schädling diese Falle auslöst, so muß er sich notwendigerweise mit dem Hauptteil seines Körpers innerhalb des Fallenraums befinden.
