Description
Method and device for producing profile bars or candles made of wax, paraffin or similar masses Wax, paraffin, stearin or other easily Melting materials are often in the form of bars on the market, especially when they are used for brushing molds in various industries should find. The previously common way of producing these rods is limited upon pouring these materials into suitable formulas, which may be chilled can be. The manufacture of candles also takes place in forms, in which the first to be drafted. This initially creates a large number of shapes henrequired and accordingly also space, because the poured mass is only in this Molds must cool and solidify before it can be removed. The substantial The number of molds requires corresponding acquisition costs and valuable workshop space during the period of manufacture, which is proportionally reduced by the slow cooling long is. The process also requires a considerable amount of manual labor and Transport, and the loss due to material waste is quite considerable.
The new process intends to remedy all of these shortcomings and to make the production of the bars or candles automatically. It is characterized by that the liquid mass by in any way generated pressure in an from the outside cooled tube is introduced into which it solidifies and from which it is a rod of emerges of unlimited length.
Figs. 1 to 4 show devices for implementing this method, and only as an example a version for manual operation, although it is unaffected is to generate the pressure mechanically or by overpressure.
In Fig. 1, 1 is any storage container for the fusible mass with an equally possible heating 2 by steam, electric Resistance or something else. The molten material flows through a pipe or an opening 3 Material to a pump body 4 with a stuffing box 6, in which a piston 5 is below the influence of a hand lever 7 7 or any other actuation on and from moving, the piston 5 (see Fig. 2) is expediently provided with an air suction valve 8 provided with suspension g so that the piston when going up in the expediently U-shaped tube so that the pressed strand of material does not suck back. I) as al> swept End 12 of this tube is expediently directed upwards and ends in one Cooling container 13, to which coolant flows in and out at I4 and I5. Advantageous it is when the tube 12 ends below the liquid level, so that the in In part, the strand of material solidified directly from the coolant passes through and is particularly intensively cooled in this way. 11 is a drain port, I8 is a guide for the finished strand 17 emerging from tube 12. I6 is a Closure with which you can expediently close the mouth of the 12th closes and which is lifted out by the growing strand. With every piston stroke After rising, fresh material flows into the pump body 4 and becomes after going down in the U-shaped connecting tube 10, in which the material already loses part of its inherent warmth. In part 12 of the pipe and completely in the immediate cooling liquid of the vessel I3 loses the one formed in the tube Rod 17 so much of its warmth that it is completely frozen and above the guide I8 can be cut into bars of any length. The piston 5 can also moved mechanically or replaced by air or gas pressure. Depending on the shape desRohrsI2, any round or square rod cross-sections can be created. That Tube 10 can also be bifurcated and provided with several outlets 12 to simultaneously to produce a larger number of rods. If hollow cross-sections are made are to be, according to Fig. 3, the tube 12 contain a mandrel 19, which has wings 20 is held in the pipe interior, the latter mounted so deep in the pipe must be that the solidifying mass is still plastic here.
By appropriately setting up the devices, different colored Masses are pressed into a common strand by several tubes 10 on one common outlet I2 open, and it is even possible for these openings into one another to be arranged so that sheathed cross-sections can be made, for example Poles that are colored differently on the inside than on the outside.
Finally, it is even possible to use a device according to Fig. Insert 4 wicks and create candles in this way. To that end is at a point on the pipe I2 where the class must also be plastic Nozzle 21 with stuffing box 22 is provided, through which a wick 23 from a roll 24 is introduced from. The wick is secured by a knot or clip 30 on the Plug I6 attached, which is pierced lengthways for this purpose. The sink 26 of the roll 24 can by a simple braking device 27, 28, 29 and with lighter Be kept under tension so that the wick inside the Itohr 12 always remains straight, but still easily picked up. The process of creating a stable is no different than with the rods, and candles from beliel> iger are used here Length formed, which is then cut to the desired length and rolled into one another Arlieitsgang, for example by an arbitrary milling device, sharpened will.
As can be seen, the method offers numerous advantages. First it is possible to work continuously and without interruption, thereby reducing the Facilities are in constant use and no rest periods for cooling down the poured mass must occur. For the same reason it is also possible a mechanical drive must be provided that follows the principle shown Set up to a complete machine with any great performance.
At the same time, the space for the production of the goods is kept to a minimum and the amount of manual labor and transport, especially as it is Application of the new procedure should be possible under the supervision of a worker to monitor a considerable number of generation sites at the same time. From it there is also a better use of space, facilities and manpower, which is added to the reduction of this requirement. The replacement of a discontinuous Activity with cooling breaks due to a steadily continuing principle) requires a considerable increase in performance, calculated on one square meter of floor space space or the working hour or the investments. Loss of material through the syringe Budding or overflowing of the forms are completely eliminated, whereby the operation becomes not only more economical, but also cleaner. Finally still surrender the various advantages outlined in the description, viz that with one and the same device different profile sizes and profile shapes be generated that composite, even nested profiles generated and that it is finally possible to use hollow profiles or profiles to manufacture with embedded wicks (candles).
The process can also be applied to other plastic materials if their physical state is changed by removing temperature can. I) accordingly, the device for producing candles can also be used, to embed other objects in the mass.
