einer Kappe zu versehen, die gegebenenfalls vorhandene Schraubenmuttern oder andereIn the case of anodes made of carbon or graphite for electrical discharge vessels, in particular
for large rectifiers, it is difficult to degas the massive bodies to such an extent that
that when the vessel is in operation, there are no longer any interfering gases that pass through
their leakage from the anode and the associated contamination of the vessel
and the pressure increase inside the ίο vessel, especially in the case of pumpless rectifiers,
Cause re-ignition. Furthermore, the anodes in individual discharge vessels are heated to such an extent that they are damaged
the supply line parts can only be avoided by cooling devices. To achieve a cooling effect, it is in itself
known to give the anodes a large surface, e.g. B. by cutting grooves in the long sides
or by making the surface wavy. Also it is already
known the disadvantages of heavy degassing and excessive heating by hollowing out
to avoid the anode from the cathode side. With such hollow anodes made of graphite
it is also known to have its inner end face facing the discharge
to provide a cap, the possibly existing nuts or other
erwiesen.Fastening devices are intended to protect against electrical influences. In such a
Providing cap bores on the side of the cap facing the discharge for degassing is already known, but it settles
on this cap as well as. the discharge is preferred on the remaining inner anode surfaces
and leads to malfunctions within the discharge vessel caused by disadvantageous
Electron emission are caused. In order to control these evils, inter alia. suggested the one on the cathode side
to close the boreholes with a piece of graphite or carbon. To avoid the above disadvantages,
is according to the invention a gas or vapor-filled discharge vessel with one consisting of a solid graphite or carbon body
Anode, the end face of which is used practically only for discharge as an anode,
in which the anode body with a * large number of open, on the anode side surface
or the rear anode surface is provided with opening drilled holes. Contrary to expectations
shows that the drilled holes made on the surfaces not facing the cathode
do not cause an increased risk of re-ignition and still have a high degree of degassing
and cause heat dissipation. In addition, such anodes are very easy to manufacture.
Different symmetrical arrangements of the drill holes have proven to be particularly advantageous
