Um nun ein Sprengen des Elektrodenkörpers bei Erhitzung zu vermeiden, ist die Platte 2 durch Fugen 6, die sich auch in dem Leiterstab fortsetzen, in sechs Sektoren unterteilt, von denen jeder einen Tragstift 4 aufweist. Durch diese Trennfuge 6 wird soviel Raum geschaffen, dass sich die Wärmedehnungen frei auswirken können.
Wie die angestellten Versuche ergeben haben, wird bei einer derartigen Elektrode, bei der die
Stromzufuhr von dem Leiter über die Platte 2, die Schweissstellen, die leitenden Stifte 4 und von diesen auf den eigentlichen Elektrodenkörper 3 erfolgt, mit Sicherheit das Entstehen von Rissen vermieden.
Diese Ausführung hat weiterhin den Vorteil, dass bei-einer etwaigen Rüekzündung eines Queck- silbj3rdampfgleichrichters der Rückstrom von dein ganzen Elektrodenkörper aufgenommen wird.
Falls jedoch besonderer Wert auf eine grosse konstruktive Festigkeit der Elektrode gelegt wird, ist die Ausführung gemäss den Fig. 3 und 4 vorzuziehen.
Diese unterscheidet sich von derjenigen gemäss den Fig. 1 und 2 dadurch, dass nicht die Platte 2, sondern der Elektrodenkörper 3 selbst durch Dehnungs-oder Sprengfugen 7 in sechs Sektoren unterteilt ist, von denen jeder durch einen Tragstift 4 gehalten wird.
Um ein Losewerden des Elektrodenkörpers 3 bei starker Erhitzung mit Sicherheit zu vermeiden, kann man die Stifte 4 nach der Platte 2 zu leicht verjüngt ausführen. Ferner kann man in dem Elektrodenkörper 3 Hohlräume vorsehen, um das Gewicht des Elektrodenkörpers zu verringern und seine Entgasung zu erleichtern.
PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE :
1. Elektrode für Vakuumentladungsgefässe, insbesondere für Stromrichter für hohe Leistungen, mit einem Elektrodenkörper aus Graphit oder Kohle, in den der Strom mittels einer in den Elektrodenkörper eingesetzten Zuleitung aus hochschmelzendem Metall eingeführt wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der stromeinführende Leiter mindestens an dem an den Elektrodenkörper anschliessenden Ende in
