KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE. The aim of the innovation is to ensure that the water carried along by the steam enters the water Boiler tubes on the water contained in the upper boiler turned away from the steam outlet tube so that the entrainment of water through the steam outlet pipe if possible is avoided. Fig. Ι is a cross section through the boiler, Fig. 2 is a cross section through the upper boiler with the tubes opening into them on a larger scale. The lower boilers α connected to one another by the tubes a 1 are connected to the upper boiler b by bundles of boiler tubes c , the upper ends of which lead into the steam space of the upper boiler, d are return pipes which connect the water space of the upper boiler to the lower boilers, e is the steam pipe, which also acts as a water separator, through which the steam to be taken from boiler b is fed to the point of consumption. The water, which has partly evaporated in the tubes c , enters the upper boiler, in which the hot, still unevaporated water is collected, in order to return through the tubes d into the boiler α , so that the latter circulates continuously through the tubes c, the upper boiler and the tube d takes place, while the steam which is thereby formed is carried on through the tube e . In order to prevent part of the water supplied from being carried along with the usually only small diameter of the upper boiler, pipe sections c 1 are provided which extend from the ends of the pipes c into the kettle b , c 2 are short pipe sections which go into the Boiler shell are screwed and wear union nuts c 3 at their free ends. The nozzle-like pipe sections c 1 rest against the end face of the pipes c and the pipe sections c 2 by means of flanges, through which they are pushed, and extend radially into the boiler b. In this way it is possible to easily replace the pipe sections c 1 , which are subject to a certain amount of wear due to the entrained water and the steam. The nozzle pipes c 1 allow the water to escape under pressure onto the surface of what is already in the boiler in such a way that the water jets are located below the steam pipe e , thereby preventing water from being carried along.
