Description
Elastic engine mounts According to the main patent 701 944, an elastic engine mount is protected, in which the one suspension point of the engine lies at the point of intersection or intersection of the two axes of oscillation, around which the engine wants to oscillate due to its reciprocating inertia forces and its torques, and at which also allow further elastic supports to move the motor freely to carry out these vibrations. The basic idea for this arrangement is to suspend the motor in such a way that it oscillates as precisely as possible around its natural oscillation axes, these are the axes around which the motor is set in motion solely as a result of the forces and moments acting in it. With such a mounting, almost no forces are then transmitted to the frame on which the engine is mounted. To achieve this effect, however, the suspensions between the engine and the frame must be very flexible.
However, this requirement is met with certain in the case of the movable design Trouble. Is it z. B. a motor vehicle engine, so this is Often subjected to strong shocks while driving through the road surface. Furthermore, additional forces occur and arise when braking hard when delivering the full power of the engine, especially in the lowest gear, considerable Forces, so that the suspension means are very heavily stressed as a result. Are Now that the suspensions are very flexible in the desired sense, there is the danger of one thing Breakage when the aforementioned heavy loads occur. It arise hence two opposing requirements for the structural design. Corresponding In accordance with the principle of the main patent, the suspension means should be as flexible as possible However, for structural reasons, the flexibility must not be too great: It an interim solution could be made here, as the means of suspension - be executed in such a way that, on the one hand, the best possible adaptation to the principle of the main patent is present, but on the other hand the suspension means also special The stresses are quite able to cope.
According to the invention, a special solution is proposed in which it is possible to achieve the best possible effect for both cases. The invention consists in the fact that the suspension links of the at the intersection of the two axes of vibration lying suspension point so flexible designed j and by plates, walls or discs are supported that the compliance in a known manner progressively decreases with increasing stress. This means that in the resting position of the motor or, in the case of small vibrations, a weak hardness of the suspension exists, but the hardness increases very quickly as the motor moves grow. Therefore, the motor can be used for normal movements with the appropriate normal large vibrations with sufficient freedom its position according to the conditions of the main patent. However, as soon as the vibrations due to special influences become very large, the hardness of the suspension is also so great that none Fractures can occur.
The invention is illustrated in the drawing. It shows the Fig. i a side view, partly. in section, -eines- engine mounting, the Fig. z one Step according to the line II-II of FIG. I, FIGS. 3 to 5 and FIG. 6, two configurations the engine mount, FIG. 4 being a section along the line IV-IV of FIG. 5 and FIG. 5 shows a section along the line V-V of FIG. Q. represents.
In Fig. I, G is the position of the center of gravity of a four-cylinder vehicle engine indicated. Under the action of the resultant of the reciprocating inertial forces (indicated by line F-F) and the torques - the engine wants to move around two axes vibrate that intersect at a point according to the main patent. This intersection is in the present case to the right of the center of gravity G of the engine (Fig. i) approximately above the beginning of the cardan tube. One suspension point is provided here. the Suspension consists of elastic bands i and 2, e.g. B. made of rubber, which may be can be reinforced by a metallic, dotted insert. These Belts are connected on the one hand to the motor by an arm 3 and on the other hand on the support frame -by supports q., which belong to a cross strut 5 of the frame. The arm 3 is connected to the bands i and 2 by a clamping plate 6 and 7 bolts.
In FIGS. 3 to 5, a connection of this type is enlarged Scale shown. The arm 3 is based on the bands i and 2 with the help of a slightly curved surface B. This reduces the oscillating movements of the engine block relieved, because the arm s = olls to a certain extent on the ligaments without them to bend or to press strongly.
There are also slats 9 that support the belts i and 2, so that the whole arrangement becomes very soft. A plate of sufficient thickness is between the belt 2 and the plate 6 switched to any pressure on the slats 9 repeal.
This type of suspension has the advantage that it only takes up a small amount of space vertical direction, so that their placement under the floor of the Vehicle is easily possible.
The embodiment according to Figure 6 is a combination of two perpendicular standing tapes. One band 17 is on the carrier 18 belonging to the support frame attached and stressed on train. This strap holds the engine block by the arm i9, with which it is connected by the clamping pressure of two jaws 2ö. The other band 21 is on the one hand on the carrier 18, on the other hand on the engine with the help of approaches 22 of the jaws 2o attached. The tape: 2i is on train or pressure claimed. The main task of this belt is to absorb the longitudinal forces as a result of acceleration or braking, which then results in a longitudinal adjustment the entire arrangement (engine and support frame) _ and relieves some of the pressure Relationship the belt 17, the main function of which is to support the weight of the engine .. The jaws 2o gradually move away from the belt 17, so that a certain leeway at a -from.- With this suspension, a very high degree of mobility can be achieved.
In both of the described embodiments, the compliance decreases the suspension with increasing load, in the case of FIGS. 3 to 5 due to the Curvature of the surface 8 and, in FIG. 6, by the angling of the jaws 20.
The engine rests on the other hand on an elastic support, which by Springs is formed, which at the same time the weight of the engine and the engine torque take up. The line of action of this support (insofar as it is the vertical Effect due to the engine weight) essentially coincides with the line of action of the resultant of the periodic influences.
As a result, the elastic support near the center of gravity G, the load to be absorbed is relatively low.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the motor rests on springs 33 and 34 with the aid of rods 35, the length of which is adjustable. These rods 35 are connected to arms 36 of the motor. These springs 33 and 34 are supported on carriers 38, which is covered with a pad 39 made of sound-absorbing material (cork, rubber, fiber) are. These carriers are fastened to the longitudinal members 4o of the support frame by bolts 41. Switching on the sound-absorbing substances prevents the transmission of the metallic ones Noise and also reduces any natural vibrations of the springs. The two Springs are conical with a variable elastic effect: the elastic The support also takes the mean value of the torque transmitted to the drive shaft on; although harder springs should hereafter be used, maintenance requires For good damping, the use of springs that are as soft as possible.
The movements of the motor still have to go through one or more stops limited so that abnormal influences do not have a harmful effect on the storage can.
In the embodiment according to FIG. I, such a stop is at the end of the engine arranged opposite to the suspension. This stop is essentially in the axis passing through the center of gravity G, that of the periodic axis Moments dependent vibration axis runs.
This stop consists of several leaf springs 61 with a End are attached to the engine, but at the other end with a soft fabric, in particular Rubber, so that a block 62 is formed, which is freely in a housing 63 can move. The internal dimensions of this housing 63 are slightly larger than that External dimensions of the block 62. The housing is attached to a cross strut of the support frame.
The surfaces of the block 62 are also not parallel to the inner walls of the housing 63. There is little air space between the block and the housing provided so that the block does not interfere with the housing walls in the event of slight motäyb, eWegungen comes into contact. An opening is provided through the front end of the housing which is passed through a spring leaf to the outside. You can this way easily determine if the required clearance is present.
As a result of the game, the natural vibrations of the engine also cause it Their relatively low amplitude does not cause the stop to rest on the housing walls. But if z. B. a strong force occurs in the vertical direction, put the Spring leaves 61 with the block 62 against the housing wall. This touch takes place increasing with the size of the force, so that this failure effect also progresses is.
This is the intended mode of action of the elastic suspension is not adversely affected in any way, no other parts of the engine or other connections can be rigidly connected to the support frame. It must therefore The following precautionary measures are also observed: i. The supply lines for water, Fuel and the like must be designed to be soft and elastic.
The exhaust line must also be articulated or better still be made with the use of flexible spacers, especially if the lines are very long.
The adjustment devices for gas, air, ignition, differential brakes, clutch etc., ie all the adjustment devices that act on the support frame on the one hand and on the engine on the other, must be formed by sheathed cables (Bowden cables) with sufficiently large kinks.
For adjustment devices that are close to the oscillation axis of the periodic Moments lie, one can possibly benefit from this Foresee condition and use rods that have enough play to withstand even the strongest vibrations of the motor not to have an inhibiting effect.
