Der Farbton schwankt zudem j e nach der Verarbeitungstemperatur, so daß die Herstellung farbgleichen Materials sehr erschwert ist. Das Verfahren gemäß Erfindung besteht darin, daß die zu entfärbenden geformten Kunststoffe zunächst mit einem Lösungsmittel unter solchen Bedingungen behandelt werden, .daß der Kunststoff lediglich angequollen wird, ohne claß er seine Struktur ändert. Es sollen für diese Behandlung lediglich , solche Lösungsmittel benutzt werden, welche Chlor bzw. Chloroxyd lösen. Anschließend wird dann der so vorbehandelte Kunststoff einer Behandlung mit Chlor oder Chloroxyden ausgesetzt. Das aufgenommene Lösungsmittel kann dann z. B. durch Anwendung von höheren Temperaturen oder lurch Lagern im Vakuum wieder entfernt everden. Das Lösungsmittel kann in flüssigem oder dampfförmigem Zustand zur Anwendung gelangen. Die Natur des anzuwendenden Lösungsmittels richtet .ich nach der Natur des zu behandelnden Kun:tstofies. Das C'lilor hzw: Clilorotvcl wird zweckmäßig in w:ilarigei-Lösung zur Anw-°ndtin- gebracht, wobei das C'lilorox_vcl während der Behandlung durch Umsatz aus Salzsäure und einem chlorsauren Salz hergestellt werden kann.
