Description
Method of joining rubber or rubber substitutes with metal It is known to use a rubber solution for bonding rubber to metals to use, the powdered charcoal is added. However, this procedure is prior careful cleaning of the metal surface is required, which is due to Application of a coating of flux, cleaning and gas removal agents takes place. This process is also used in stages and is not very economical. In addition, the bond achieved is very poor.
It is also known to bond hard rubber to metal one To use rubber milk paint with amorphous components, such as plaster of paris or Cement. However, these additives are the usual fillers and by no means have the effect of binding the metal surface with the rubber to influence or even to improve.
The invention now consists in a method of joining rubber or rubber substitutes with metal using one containing amorphous parts Binder with the label that textiles are used as an amorphous component will. Textiles that can primarily be considered are textile waste. The textiles are expediently added to the binder in comminuted form, which can also be done before or after applying the binding agent to the metal surface, but before its drying can take place. Due to the presence of the textile parts in amorphous Shape within the binder becomes a substantial increase in surface area the binding surface achieved, so that the binding capacity increases in the same way. It is essential that a preparation of the metal surface, e.g. B. the roughening, is now superfluous, so that the new binding process through his Simplicity distinguishes itself and is therefore particularly economical. It is just a simple operation is necessary to match the metal surface with the amorphous To provide binding compound containing textile parts. On this is the rubber or Rubber substitute applied. The vulcanization then takes place after the for the respective rubber article in consideration process. The bond between Metal and rubber is perfect flawless and holds everyone Tensile and shear stress.
Example of an embodiment Degreased, unroughened metal parts are shown with a solution of ro parts of chlorinated rubber in roo parts of toluene, which is r5 percent by weight ground textile waste is added, e.g. B. by dipping, spraying or painting, overdrawn. After drying, the solution becomes an unvulcanized rubber mixture applied, the rubber mixture to be attached to the dry, rough surface -Applied and vulcanized in a known manner. It is also possible to use the ground Add waste of chlorinated rubber and rubber solution at the same time.
