Außerdem war beim Aufbringen des Zementbreies das ungeschützte Rohr dem Einfluß der Feuchtigkeit unmittelbar ausgesetzt. Man empfahl daher auch, das Rohr vor dem Aufbringen der Zementschicht mit einer isolierenden Schicht aus Teer oder Bitumen zu versehen.
