B. Drehtrommeln o. dgl., in Bewegung, vorzugsweise
in umwälzender Bewegung gehalten wird.Method for obtaining anhydrous, crushed pitch In the patent 688 505 a method for converting molten pitch or pitch-like substances into the solid, small-sized state by flowing the molten pitch in a thin stream into a channel through which cold water flows and allowing the solidified pitch to drip off a sieve-like device described. This process is characterized in that the pitch in the cooling water is separated from the cooling water while still hot in a strand-like, non-granulated state, and the pitch is allowed to granulate by cooling in the air. According to this process, a flawless, small-sized product that has largely been freed of moisture is to be obtained. In a further development of this method of operation, it has now been found that a substantial improvement can be achieved in that the still hot, solidified and separated pitch from the cooling water is cooled by the action of flowing air and, if necessary, at the same time by means of suitable devices, such as. B. rotating drums o. The like., Is kept in motion, preferably in a circulating motion.
On the one hand, this type of cooling results in cooling
of the hot pitch and, on the other hand, the evaporation of the
water that is still adhering is made much more intense and complete. It is
in this case by the action of a correspondingly lively air stream without further ado
possible, as a result of the occurring
Evaporation cold a rapid
To achieve cooling of the pitch below the air and cooling water temperature. The one here
Applicable proportions between air flow and pitch are mainly based
according to the water content of the drained pitch and according to the respective temperatures
of outside air and cooling water and are easy to adjust on a case-by-case basis.
befreites Produkt erhalten. Beispiel i Ein etwa 2oo'j heifles Steinkohlenteer-Brikettpech
wird..This mode of operation allows, on the one hand, particularly in the case of low-melting
Pitch the risk of the pitch sticking together after separation from the cooling water easily
avoid; on the other hand, the treatment time is significantly shortened
small pieces, no longer sticking together and very largely from the water content
received freed product. Example i An approximately 2oo'j hot coal tar briquette pitch
from softening point 6j "= 'is according to the dissolution of patent 688 505 with cooling water
treated by 2o #. The solidified, still warm pitch, separated from the cooling water, which
If water is still adhering to the outside, it is transported onwards on a conveyor belt
is treated with flowing air. Instead of onward transport by a conveyor belt
An oblique red can also be used, on which the pitch due to its own weight
slips off, whereby, expediently from below, an air stream is blown through the inclined grate
will..
Beispiel e Ein etwa Zoo` heißes Steinkohlenteer-Brikettpech vom Erweichungspunkt
Example e A roughly zoo`s hot coal tar briquette pitch from the softening point
65 ° is treated according to the method of patent 688 505 with cooling water of 20 °.
The solidified, still warm pitch, separated from the cooling water, which was still externally
Water adheres, falls into a rotating drum, through which an artificial air stream
is blown through by means of a fan. The pitch leaves the rotating drum in
in small pieces and completely cooled down and has a water content of
under i010. Even if there is an air flow of relatively high temperature,
z. B. 25 to 30 °, is used, is easily obtained due to the evaporation cold
an end product cooled to around r8 °.

erreichen. In the additional patent 740 055 , a special embodiment of the method of the main patent 688 505 has been described, which is particularly suitable for processing low-melting soft pitches, adhesives and the like. According to this embodiment, the pitch is fed to the flowing cooling water in the form of a flat, band-shaped layer, for example by means of a distribution tongue °, with the pitch band optionally floating on the cooling water by setting the specific weight of the latter, e.g. 13. by adding salt. In this embodiment, too, a substantial improvement and acceleration can be achieved by using the present invention.
