Description

Kurvenlineal Das Kurvenlineal (Abb.2) besteht aus festem Material und gestattet ein einfacheres und rascheres Arbeiten als die bisher bekannten Kurvenlineale. Als Umri_ßlin.ien derselben werden meistens Teile verschiedener Kegelschnitte oder auch Spiralen verwendet. Im ersten Falle ist es notwendig, mehrere solcher Kurvenlineale zur Hand zu nehmen, ehe es gelingt, ein passendes Kurvenstück zu finden. Im zweiten Falle ergeben sich bei Verwendung der allgemein bekannten Spiralenformeln unhandliche Abmessungen des Kurvenlineals und ein geringer Bereich der zur Verfügung stehenden Krümmungsradien, bei Verwendung einer Phantasiespirale aber unvermeidliche Unstetigkeiten und dadurch verminderte Gebrauchsfähigkeit desselben.Curve ruler The curve ruler (Fig.2) consists of solid material and allows easier and faster work than the previously known curve rulers. Diese Spirale hat die Eigenschaft, .daß ,sich ihre Krümmungsradien mit zunehmendem Winkel cp rasch vergrößern. Aus dieser Eigenschaft ergibt sich eine .sehr günstige Form, des Kurvenlineals, bei welchem sich kleinster zum größten Krümmung.sradius wie i : 2 500 verhalten. Die absoluten Maße derselben betragen 2,5 mm und 5ooo mm bei einer Gesamtlänge des Kurvenlineals von i 5o mm. Um diese geringe Länge zu erzielen und inn die Umrißlinie zu schließen, wurde jenes Stück der Kurve, in welchem sich der Krüinmungsradius dem Wert Unendlich nähert, um etwa 15o° zurückgeklappt. Die Umrißlinien 0-B und A-C.des Kurvenlineals (A.bb.2) entsprechen den gleich bezeichneten Stücken der Kurve (Abb. i).
