Die Neuerungen sind an dem Apparat, welcher auf beiliegender Zeichnung in den Fig. ι und 2 dargestellt ist, enthalten. Sie bezwecken:The innovations are in the apparatus, which is shown in the accompanying drawing in the Fig. Ι and 2 is shown included. They aim to:

1. Ersatz der leicht zerbrechlichen gläsernen Auslaiigeröhren A und B durch solche aus Metall.1. Replacement of the easily breakable glass external tubes A and B with metal ones.

2. Ersatz der gläsernen Kühlröhren D (bezw. der Hofmann'schen Kühler für durchfliefsendes Wasser) durch Röhren aus Metall, welche in einem beständig kühlenden Behälter K von genügender Capacität befestigt sind und bei welchen die Anwendung von fliefsendem Kühlwasser vermieden ist.2. Die AuslaugeröhreA ist oben in die Umhüllungsröhre B luftdicht eingepafst und durch einen sogenannten Bajonnetverschlufs oder in sonstiger Weise darin befestigt. Die inneren Flächen dieser Röhren sind, soweit sie mit den Dämpfen der angewendeten ZuckerlösungsmittelinBerührungkommen können, gut verzinnt (oder auch versilbert etc.). Die innere Röhre A trägt an der unteren Spitze ein kleines Metallsieb a, auf welches nöthigenfalls eine filtrirende Substanz gelegt werden kann. Die Spitze der Röhre A selbst ist entweder an der Röhre ein- für allemal befestigt, oder mit Hülfe einesBajonnet-(oder sonstigen)Verschlusses mit ihr verbunden, so dafs die Spitze behufs leichterer Entleerung und Reinigung der Röhre abgenommen werden kann.Rg. Diese herausragende Spitze steht mit der Ausläiigeröhre A durch ein Zwischenstück d aus Glas, mit Hülfe von Stöpseln aus Gummi oder Kork in Verbindung. Durch diese seitlichen Stative werden gleichzeitig die Röhren AB gegen die Kühlröhren D eingespannt und festgehalten. In dem Zeiträume zwischen mehreren auf einander folgenden Versuchen kühlt das Wasser durch Wärmeausstrahlung wieder von selbst in genügender Weise ab, ohne dafs eine Erneuerung nöthig wäre.
