Im allgemeinen verschweißen diese Schichten. Es kommt aber vor, daß ein Versclii;
Crimping head in devices for crimping cables with a jacket

The drawing shows a two-part press head as an exemplary embodiment
for the education of cable sheaths without an upper weld seam shown in section.
Weise
The press head consists of the two halves z and 2, which go through

Tongue-like support bolts of the mandrel holder 4 are referred to. The front end
of the mandrel holder 4. is covered by. your throttle collar 12. In the chamber 13 of the
Press head protrudes into a saddle 14, which together with the throttle collar 12 and
the base ring io causes the pressure to equalize in the press head. So that the pressure equalization
comes about, experience has shown that the annular gap 15 is between the throttle collar
12 and the mandrel holder 4 in the upper half of the press head narrower than in the
lower half. The distance between the inner sliding surfaces is correspondingly also ioa
of the base ring io from the mandrel 5 in the upper half of the head smaller than in the
lower half of the press head. As a result, the material to be pressed has since in the upper
and lower half of the press head the same amount of material to be pressed in the unit of time
must go through in the pressing direction if a uniform jacket is to be created,
in the upper part of the annular gap between throttle collar 12 and mandrel holder 4. a

.4 do not protrude so that the mandrel holder out of the press head against the pressing direction
can be pulled out. Through the collar or projection 17 that is on the mandrel holder
along sliding, the inner layer of the shell forming pressed material inhibited and thereby
the speed of the pressed material moving in the vicinity of the wall of the chamber
customized. As a result, an intimate welding of the two layers of pressed material is achieved,
before they leave the chamber, which avoids imperfections in the mantle produced
will. For reasons of simpler manufacture, the recess 16, which per se
is only necessary where experience has shown that there are flaws in the coat later,
be provided on the entire circumference of the mandrel holder 4, as the throttling of the
the pressed material forming the inner layer of the jacket around the mandrel holder is not disadvantageous

Outer layer and the inner layer of the shell forming pressed material in the same place
takes place in the press head, rather the throttle collar 12 and through the recess
16 formed projection 17 can also be arranged offset to one another. This arrangement
results z. B. for press heads where the throttle collar does not hold the mandrel holder,
but embraces the thorn. Instead of one recess 16, several can also be used
Provide narrower recesses or indentations one behind the other on the mandrel holder.
